Watch Your Decision Making

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the Lord is near in the valley of decisions” (Joel 3:14).
We bless the name of the Lord for giving us the grace to see yet another year. To Him be All the glory! Beloved, welcome to the year of our Lord! As it normally is, many are in the process of making plans, decisions, arrangements, alliances and many more for the year. One thing is for sure though; the previous year had turned so many things upside down, such that what was readily known by experience is no longer the case. One could say it is as if the world has entered an era of a ‘new normal’! The old normal is beginning to look out of place and outdated. But Praise God; in all of these new normal or old normal, our God, Jehovah Almighty remains the same. If we agree with the preceding statement, it then follows that we must watch carefully the decisions we take as they not only affect us here on earth but equally determine where and how we spend eternity. If we are not careful or care less, the decisions and plannings may not have the favorable outcomes we envisage. An elderly man while advising a young man on a life changing decision which may impact his future negatively if he is not careful, said to the young man not to worry about the future but only the present! He should do what pleases and benefits him now! A very dangerous counsel (Job 32:7-8)! Sadly, that is the new world we are living in now.
Many people take drastic decisions based on how they presently feel without any regard to what may come. One of the principles that uphold the world and its systems many are forgetting is: “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease” (Genesis 8:22). Meaning, there is a time to plant and a time to harvest what had being sown. Thus, a decision taken today will either impact your future negatively or positively. No wonder we were warned: “Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit” (Galatians 6:7-8). There is no escaping this principle. Even those in the world call it ‘Karma’! Therefore, Beloved, as we plan, decide, make arrangements and alliances, do not fall into the mindset of how it should be done in the ‘New Normal’ or based on previous experiences; but make Jesus Christ the Center of your decision making or planning and you will NEVER go wrong.
The decisions, planning and so on taken may look and sound foolish to you and to those around you, but if the Lord Jesus Christ is the One leading you, stand on it, and you can bet that it will yield the desired outcome! However, to take decisions, make plans, alliances and arrangements outside of Him, is to sow the wind! Many over the years sowed the wind, now they are reaping the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7). Instead of repenting, they blame and fight everyone else but themselves. Beloved, before taking that drastic life changing decision, step back and ask the Lord for help. Don’t be deceived experience may carry you so far, but vision is guaranteed to take you to a very good end! You may argue that asking people in the world that had been in the same situation for help is much better or your previous experiences will see you through. This is bound to fail you as we approach The Day of the Lord (The Return of Christ).
We have entered a time of Separation and Distinction, indeed, a ‘New Normal’ if you will, because it is no longer business as usual in the Spirit realm. A winding down has begun! The devil knows it and has upped his antics. Sadly, sons of God are busy getting very comfortable and forgetting to prepare for His Return. Beloved, last year was a preparation period and a wake-up call! This is the time to make Jesus Christ the very center of your life, from Whom everything in your life flows: “At that time those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord took notice and listened. So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Yahweh and had high regard for His name. ‘They will be Mine,’ says the Lord of Hosts, ‘a special possession on the day I am preparing. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him. So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him (Malachi 3:16-18). This is His sure promise! Beloved, trust and rely on Him every step of the way as He carries you through the year and beyond, and you are guaranteed GOOD SUCCESS! God bless you, in Jesus Christ name!
