He First Called Us To Himself

There are so many doctrines making the round now and if one is not assured of Whom he has come to believe, such will be swept away by these ‘right’ sounding doctrines. For instance, being the beginning of the year, there are so many arguments about the right way and right manner of serving God, thereby effectively drawing the attention of so many away from the true worship of God through Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul warned Timothy about such divisive persons that pretend to know the Scriptures but do not; unfortunately in their blabbing they draw men away from the Truth of God’s Word: “…These promote empty speculations rather than God’s plan, which operates by faith. Now the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith…They want to be teachers of the law, although they don’t understand what they are saying or what they are insisting on” (1 Timothy 1:4b, 5 and 7).         So that His sons will not be deceived just as Adam and the wo

A Cry For Our Beloved Land

There is a terrible and wicked cloud over our nation at this time; the sons of God are being targeted and becoming prey for the sons of perdition. It is not a time for rhetoric or grandstanding but to retreat into the stronghold and hear what God is saying and to receive instruction as to what must be done! But to do this successfully, there is a position we must be in for our prayers to be effective: “Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not set his mind on what is false and who has not sworn deceitfully” (Psalm 24:2-3). It is good to call for prayers of warfare, but we must understand that he who comes to the table of equity must come with clean hands! Are we devoid of blame, of injustice, corruption, falsehood and the likes in our midst (Isaiah 58)? As sons of God, we must not forget that we serve the God of Justice. He shows no favoritism, thus none can claim prerogative over Him. Wh

The Trap Of ‘What’s The Point?’

Do you feel as if the year is running so fast, you are yet to catch your breath? Talking to a young lady the other day, she was  complaining that it’s as if there is a conspiracy in Heaven against her to make sure she doesn’t succeed no matter how much she works hard. When I asked why she thought so, she went on a litany of how her ‘mates’ are doing so much better than her despite the fact that she works hard and serves the Lord Jesus Christ just as hard with all she has. With the way the year is looking, she thinks it will be the same old experience as the previous years. It is like she cannot catch a break! She threw her hands in the air and exclaimed, “What’s the point, what’s the point of working hard, of serving, of toiling day and night with no appreciable results? After all, she continued, the Bible says: “…The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance

The ‘How’ Must Not Be Neglected

As the year kicks off, so many plans, intentions and goals are set, all wrapped up in resolutions. This is good! Some received clear instructions from the Lord as to what He would want them to do. This is even better! All these are the ‘what’ we either desire or God wants for us in the year. But pray tell, the other resolutions and instructions of previous years how far did you go with them? God did not lie or fail concerning the previous years’ instructions especially when the outcome was not favorable. The truth is we cannot attain these plans and instructions by the arm of flesh and expect the fall out to be favorable. For instance, it was true that you heard clearly from the Lord that you will marry and to whom in the said year, but the marriage is almost costing you your life; does that mean God was wrong or mistaken about you getting married and to whom then? Beloved, it is not enough to plan, set goals (which you claim you envisioned) and receive direct instructions from
