Trust!

Do you trust the Lord to see you through these times? No matter what you may be going through, I believe that you are here for such times as this so that the awesome power of God may be showcased in your life. We are indeed in times when it is difficult to stand and remain on the truth we profess. Especially in our climes where corruption has become the order of the day, it is difficult to differentiate between what people stand against and what they stand for. So many claim to stand against corruption but given half the opportunity the people they criticize have, they would do worse on that same seat. It is for a fact that we are living in the last days the Bible talked about in 2Timothy3:1-9. But these are the times we must stand and remain standing in our unwavering trust in God. The Bible tells us in Psalm 125:1-2 – “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever. Jerusalem – the mountains surround her. And the Lord surrounds His people,

Be On Guard

“You can do whatever you want, all you have to do is believe in Jesus!” With such declarations, ‘children’ of God are told to do whatever they want after all He is the God of the second, third, tenth, twentieth etc chance! ‘As many chances as you want dear, He is all that’. These teachers forget Hebrews 12: 16-17. Grace, love and mercy of God have been turned into licenses for sin and a licentious life-style! These strange teachings being churned out from pulpits, if one is not careful such will be swept away by this evil tide. If you listen carefully you would notice that the teachings of Christ have been so simplified and watered down to the point of error and sacrilege!  The proponents of this ‘anything goes’ gospel argues that the Kingdom has been made wide open so that many hitherto would not have had the opportunity because of the ‘judging sermons’ can now come in. This question then readily comes to mind: ‘if this is working why is sin commonplace in the house of the Lord?’ Th

It’s Always Too Soon To Quit - Jentezen Franklin

I heard a story about a couple in Southern California who lived in the foothills of the mountains. One day as they were hiking through a canyon, they noticed wild mushrooms growing everywhere. They decided to pick the mushrooms and take them home. They invited some friends over for a “mushroom party.” No, they didn’t smoke them. They cooked them. They sautéed the mushrooms, breaded them and fried them. They made mushroom omelets, mushroom salad and mushroom soup. They even concocted some mushroom desserts. After dinner, as all the guests were gathered at the table, having a great time, the host went into the kitchen with the leftovers. He had an old, lazy cat, so he decided to feed it with some scraps from the table. The cat gobbled up the mushrooms. Sometime later, the host went back into the kitchen and found the cat lying on the floor, foaming at the mouth and panting for breath. He immediately phoned the veterinarian, who advised the man that he and his dinner guests had better g

Be Assured! 2

When times of testing comes so many doubt the word of God, by questioning the veracity of what they had heard because they had prayed and the challenge refuses to budge. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 3:7-8 (AMP) “Therefore as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice do not harden your hearts as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness…” the Bible says the children of Israel were embittered against the Lord because they felt what they got was not what He promised them. You might be feeling same, thinking what you are going through you did not deserve especially if you had been in that situation for awhile. Let’s back track a bit and hear what the Lord says in Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. All of you take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for yourselves.” God expect

Be Assured! 1

I had a wonderful chat with a dear friend the other day and I would love to share with you some things that came up in the chat that energized both of us to seek the Lord more. So many times as children of God, the tendency to live in past glories is so alluring that it stops us from seeing the new things God is doing presently in and through us. We believe certain things should work out in a particular order and when it doesn’t, we kick hard at everything and wonder why. For instance a woman that is looking for the blessing of the womb for quite awhile when you tell her the state she is in is actually in the plan of God for her; she gets quite upset wondering why her pain should be God’s plan for her. As children of God that have opened our lives to the Master, no matter what we face, all works towards a perfect goal in the Master to glorify Himself and benefit us. You may disagree with this especially if you are going through some harrowing experiences right now. But God’s word enc

Young Persons: Be Strong!

Imagine as a new born child, someone comes and declares that you will continually face persecutions! I can imagine the horror that would be on the face of your parents! Nobody prays such for a new born child, rather we dream of a world where everything will be alright and the child can grow and live the potentials he has been endowed with. Good thoughts! But scripturally, the reverse is the case. The Bible tells us that as long as we are in this world and want to live godly lives, we would face persecutions. These persecutions will arise from diverse places and in diverse forms. Thus, it will be very naïve of us to think otherwise. The fact that you are young either physically or in the faith makes you a very worthy prey for the enemy. The enemy on a daily basis seeks young, strong and vibrant children of God to turn so he could use them for the business of his kingdom! However, the Lord admonishes us not to lose heart but be courageous because He has overcome the world by conquerin

Resetting The Settings Of The Old Mind

“I am sorry” was always the refrain of Franklin with his wife of many years. Since he came to the Lord a few years ago he realized that he uttered those words more often than any set of words in a day. In fact a day does not go by without his saying them to God or someone. Unfortunately, his wife, a wonderful child of God has started growing impatient with him on account of those words. Instead of her usual reply of “okay darling” she now says “that is what you keep saying”! You may feel like Franklin, in all sincerity you are truly sorry but you find yourself offending again on the same issue. You have prayed, fasted and even set rules for yourself but you find yourself stumbling in following the Lord Jesus Christ. Friend, no matter how well-intention we may be if our minds are not reset to be like that of Christ’s we will find ourselves doing things we never originally set out to do.         Apostle Paul by the Spirit said in Romans 7:17-20 (MSG) “But I need something more!
