       There are certain happenings in our lives that look as if God is far away from us and cannot possibly be letting what is happening to us to happen. We must understand that if indeed we are children of God, everything that happen to us is not per chance but all orchestrated to showcase the power and glory of God in our lives. Someone once remarked that why should God allow certain things to happen to us first before rescuing us from them. At the same time we must not forget that He equally rescues us before the things actually happen. That is HIS way. To understand this further, Jesus Christ taught us a model of prayer thus: “…And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one…” (Matthew 6:13a). This means He can deliver us before we enter into the problem or allow us to enter the problem and then deliver us from the problem. The prerogative is His. You might ask why. This is so because He wants His glory to be fully showcased in the situ...

We live in a world where those that suppress the truth have the loudest voices. They are more persuasive in their arguments because their arguments sound logical. However, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not necessarily mean it is the truth. At the same time the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not mean it is of God. So many claim they do not care where it originates from, but they agree with and have bought into its message. If that is your stance, then you need to hear this because what you believe and have bought into is a lie. Remember, ignorance is not bliss but a dangerous position to occupy as many ‘ignorants’ abound in hell! The argument for celebrating the St Valentine day is loud and sounds logical but it is not the truth, neither is it of God! It is not of God because the love that Jesus Christ portrays carries within it the responsibility of self-sacrifice whilst that of Valentine carries no responsibility but the gratification of self! ...

        It is sad when children of God act as if there are no consequences for their words or actions. We seem to forget the Scripture that tells us: “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance but as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy” (1Peter 1:14-16). The Bible equally tells us that we are created in the image of God and His likeness and that God doesn’t speak His Words or act in vain. All that He says or does always have an outcome! If we believe this, it then follows that our words and even actions are not in vain as well; they equally set things in motion both physically and spiritually. For this reason the Bible tells us many times to be mindful of our tongue, mouth and heart as the things we say, thoughts, motives and actions will be judged. On that DAY no man will feign ignorance: “If you say, ‘But we didn’t know about this’, wont ...

        As these are terrible times, these are equally great times as we see God’s hand in the affairs of men. If there was ever a time when God’s Word is real, is this times. God is using the happenings of the world to point men back to Himself and to explode the pretensions of those that claim to know and serve God but are actually serving their stomachs. Beloved, don’t be a silent or a willing participant in the teachings that do not glorify God by pointing men back to Him: “…I found it necessary to write and exhort you to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all. For certain men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying our Master and Lord, Jesus Christ” (Jude 3 and 4). We are indeed in times when there is a marked difference between those that are serving God in truth and those serving for their stomachs: “So you will again see...
