 "And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world" (1John 2:2, AMPC).        Jesus Christ came to the world, lived (to show man how to live) and died as a Sacrifice for the sin of mankind; and He is coming back again for us to be with Him forever. For as many as believe in Him and appropriate His sacrifice to their lives, they are saved. Saved from the wrath of the Almighty God to come on the sin of the world! God hates the sin, but He loves His creation. Hence He came in the flesh and took the condemnation and the eternal punishment of sin from mankind upon Himself. This is a sacrifice no other god or name has ever contemplated or done for their adherents throughout the centuries, since the creation of the Universe!        When God made man, He told man: "...God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth” (Genesis 1:28). Man was to be fruitful and multiply his kind. Meaning he will reproduce himself. God expects that as man reproduces himself, he passes on not just his DNA; he also passes on what he has learnt.         This He repeated when He told the children of Israel (while they were in the wilderness) to bind His word in their hearts. To teach their children while they sat at home or they were walking along the road. As they do this, not only will they be blessed, but their days and that of their children may be long on earth (Deuteronomy 11: 18-21).  "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit" (Proverbs 18:21).         Have you noticed that one of the things the enemy has succeeded in doing is changing definitions of certain words? Such that words that were plainly understood now have double meanings. And of course, neither of the meanings is exactly what the meaning of the word should be. Some words, allow your imagination to run while actually meaning something different. The whole idea is not just to demystify language but to demystify the power of words on our tongue.         Now, when you think words don't matter, or they matter in certain circumstances and not in others, you will speak without guardrails on your tongue. What this means is you will mean one thing in certain circumstances and something else in another circumstance. Hence the words "I really didn't mean it like that"!          We live in a world where those who suppress the truth have the loudest voices. They are more persuasive in their arguments because their arguments sound logical and well-reasoned. However, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not necessarily mean it is the truth. At the same time, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not mean it is of God. So many claim they do not care where it originates from, but they agree with and have bought into its message. If that is your stance, then you need to hear this because what you believe and have bought into is a lie.          From the beginning of time, God Almighty has sought various means of communicating His thoughts and desires to humanity. Through the very things He has created around us, He clearly reveals His divine nature and our predestined purposes as the object of His love to those who care enough to pay attention.  His goal has always been to set men free from all that limits them from experiencing an abundant life. There is no doubt that the present life as we know it, with all its hurts, pains and heartbreak was never meant to be this way; indeed the enemy has done this.         Friends, if He created the earth with hidden and precious treasures, then how much more you? The enemy, on the other hand, has worked overtime to create things that bind, blind, limit, and ultimately stop us from fulfilling our God-given destinies.        Sometimes I ask myself if people in the Body of Christ still believe that the God of the Bible is the same today. If we believe He is the same, we believe He never changes, His Word is Yes and Amen, why do we think we can change the terms, definitions and meanings of His Word and He will be "okay" with it.         Many argue that the God of the Old Testament is harsher than the God of the New Testament. Hence, they go on to argue that the Old Testament was the Dispensation of Law, while the New Testament is the Dispensation of Grace. If not for the mercies of God, these proponents would have eliminated the Old Testament from the Bible altogether. For these ones, it is okay to cherry-pick some verses to suit their stance at any given time and to kick the rest of the Scriptures that do not suit their agenda to the kerb! Boy!        The advancement in technology, wealth, influence, and many more have blinded many within the Church to the fact that we are pilgrims on a pilgrimage on earth. Meaning, a day would come when all we have acquired or desired will be left behind, and we will pass through a door to a specific destination. As sons of God, our hope is a living one as the door of death is not the end because we believe and are confident that we will see Him and be raised to be like Him: "...But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is" (1 John 3:2b, NIV).         For as many as have believed and have received Him are born anew into an inheritance that is imperishable, unchangeable, undefiled and reserved in Heaven for us (1 Peter 1:3-5).  "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]" (Genesis 17:1, AMP).        A while back, I overheard a conversation between two young men; both were wondering how a person can be and remain holy in a world that daily encourages you to exhibit and enjoy every self-indulgent pleasure one desires. Of course, they knew the Scripture in Psalm 119:9-11, which describes how a young man can keep his way pure, but they feel it is increasingly becoming difficult to discern the way of the Lord from the world system.
