Be Encouraged! 2

      In John 14:3, Jesus said “If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” He equally said in Luke 18:29 “…I assure you: there is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers, parents or children because of the Kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more at this time and eternal life in the age to come.” By the time we got to Revelations 22:12, He said: “Look! I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me to repay each person according to what he has done.” With these great promises, what manner of lives are we to live in order not to lose sight and fall short of these great and marvelous promises? We would be the most miserable if our hope is only for this life: to live a rich and great life whilst losing our place with the Father in eternity. This calls for a sober living and like the heroes of Hebrews 11, we must constantly look forward to the City whose Architect and Builder is God. 1 Corinthians 15:58 exhorts us to remain steadfast and immovable as we live in this world awaiting our Lord’s return. This, however points to the fact that so many things would want to move us from our position in Christ and make us lose confidence in the Lord. Job faced a similar predicament. Praise God that he was discerning enough to see the enemy at work and so he declared in Job 13:15-16 - “Even if He kills me, I will hope in Him. I will still defend my ways before Him. Yes, this will result in my deliverance, for no godless person can appear before Him.” 
      Friend, no matter what we face, we must remain steadfast and persevere in that which we have believed. Unshakeable in our faith and devotion to the Master no matter the deceit or winds the enemy is blowing across our faces (which is nothing to our Master). We must do the work of our Lord Jesus Christ with an infectious enthusiasm knowing that nothing we do for Him is useless! Are you waning in your enthusiasm for the service of the Lord? Remain strong bearing in mind that you have being chalked down by the enemy not to make it. Your remaining standing in Christ is a signal to the enemy and his kingdom that he has failed and you are winning because Christ our hope of Glory is in you. Indeed you are MORE than conqueror. Praise God!!!

Many things had happened in the life of Abram. He had gone to war to save his nephew caught in a war between several nations.        The book of Daniel opens with the account of God handing over the king of Judah, her people, and her treasures to the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. Those first two verses in the first chapter of Daniel were quite frightening; imagine being handed over to your enemy to be enslaved and or probably killed. Why would God do this to His beloved people? 'Where is His mercy', many cry out today when they read these and many more Scriptures like that.
