Are you listless when it comes to the things of
God? Have you tried everything but can’t seem to find what the root problem is? Are you experiencing a growing appetite for the things of the
world? The things you stopped doing as you got to know the Lord more, do you
find yourself attracted to them all over again? Are you in the habit of finding
excuses to support this attitude and even find excuses to love them as Solomon
did with his many foreign wives including the daughter of Pharaoh? Friend,
there is a problem! Open your heart and allow the Lord to walk you through
this. It is expected of us to increase in the things of God and decrease toward
the things of the world. It is not about confessing the Word but by putting into action the Word we confess. To put it into action successfully is to constantly feed on the undiluted Word of God. As we feed daily on physical foods we see results in
our physical bodies. When the wrong foods are eaten, we equally see adverse
results. Same goes for our spirit man; whatever we feed on spiritually we would
see results. Thus, God is very particular about the spiritual food that we feed
on. If we feed on the wrong foods our growth will be stunted and may result in
death. No wonder Jesus declared in John 6:53-58 that His Body is the real food
and His Blood is the real drink. Only the one that partakes of this will live
because of Him and have eternal life. It then follows, that if a person feeds
on any spiritual food other than Christ – His word, the person is dead. You
might be wondering what the essence of this feeding is. It is important that we
feed on Him because of the mandate that had been laid on our shoulders as
Christ’s ambassadors. Ezekiel was told
in Ezekiel 3:1-4 “He said to me: ‘Son of man eat what you find here. Eat this
scroll, then go and speak to the house of Israel.’…Then He said to me: ‘Son of
man, go to the house of Israel and speak My words to them.’” Ezekiel ate the
scroll in obedience and declared the heart of God to the people. What have you
been declaring? Do you know that what you declare points to what you have been
feeding on? Friend, what have you been feeding on? Or you are unconcerned since
there are Preachers to do that sort of thing? You feel and say you have only
one life to live and you must live it well by enjoying what life has to offer.
No one is stopping you from enjoying life in fact you must because He had come
to give us life in abundance. It is the desire of God for you to enjoy this
life responsibly as His ambassadors declaring the mandate of His Kingdom to a
dying world. Friend, God must have been feeding you with His Word to fill your
stomach. What did you do with it? Do you
know you have been raised for such a time as this when people are declaring
there is no hope? There is violence all over the world and God expects His
ambassadors to declare His heart to the people. Ezekiel 37:11b “…Look how they say: our bones
are dried up, and our hope has perished; we are cut off.” This is the state of the people and the Lord
wants us to prophesy that the graves are opened and men must stand up from what
is holding them bound and walk into the marvelous light of God. God expects us
to prophesy so that the deadness in the lives of people will be revived. You have refused to share the new life you have
because you either have a reputation to maintain or just plain scared of what
you will lose. Friend, repent of this evil or you will suddenly find out that
the food has been stopped. Friend, rise up, eat the Scroll and declare the Heart of the Most High God! God
bless you!
Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences. As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard. The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through. Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...
