Your Walk…? It Is Your Responsibility!

Have you ever considered your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, how would you rate it? Do you have a part to play in it or you simply ‘go with the flow’ since you are born again? So many rate their walk with the Master by what their pastors say. The pastor tells you, you are doing great in your walk even when there are obvious shortcomings on your part. The excuse given is that, once these shortcomings are pointed out to you, you will become discouraged but if you are told ‘you’re doing great’, the tendency (according to their reasoning) is that you will be motivated to walk deeper. The Scripture is filled with men that had shortcomings and we saw how God rebuked them, how they turned to the Lord and He helped them. The Bible tells us to help restore a fallen brother or sister in the spirit of gentleness but equally taking heed to ourselves so as not to be tempted. The truth is, we have hyped the ‘restoring in gentleness’ but forgot to take heed to ourselves. In restoring a brother or sister, we are not supposed to water down the scripture, thus making it lifeless nor are we to flatter or lie to the erring person. Even in gentleness and love, it must be done in truth and sincerity of heart. Gentleness and love without truth is falsehood!
What is the Bible’s position on our own personal responsibilities in regard to our walk with God? 2 Peter 1:10 says “Therefore brethren be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble”. Friend, there are some things that must be done in order to make our calling and election sure. It is not what the pastor or preacher says but something that must be gained by experiential knowledge. In order words, what you’d experience for yourself. If you are only sure of your walk with God by the pronouncements of the preacher then you are an immature child of God lacking in the very things that should make your call and election sure. These things are faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. These things are not some ‘things’ you pick up by the way side but we are told to be ‘diligent’ in adding these things to our life of faith. This is our responsibility on a daily basis. It becomes a counterfeit life when we believe that since we are born again, living under grace all these things will automatically be added to us. That is not the gospel of Christ but another gospel!
Friend, how is your life of faith? What have you added to it since you started walking with the Lord? If you have, continue so that you can abound in them and your life, knowledge and walk with God will be fruitful. However, if you are still in the faith level, where everything you do and believe revolves round you, then it is time to awaken from a deathly sleep and get to work! Be diligent to add to your faith or your walk with the Lord will be unfruitful. The grace to arise and diligently walk with the Master is released to you in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

Are You A True Disciple? Part 1

This decade opened with very dire straits for mankind, as many people around the world woke up to a world that stood still as each nation shut their borders, homes and institutions shutting their doors. If many had been told this scenario could happen a couple of decades ago, one would say it was crazily impossible. But it did happen! Many lives and livelihoods were destroyed, and many institutions and lifestyles, including the Church, were affected. As terrible as the times were and still are, it is exposing the hearts and state of many 'sons of God'!         Many wondered aloud, 'What does the devil want for causing all this havoc?' And some went further to ask, 'What does God want?' The answer to both questions is 'Man' (male and female)! It is a battle between the Kingdom of God and darkness for the soul of man. As a result, man is being prepared both by God and the devil for eternity with either!         ...

It Is Time To Raise A Cry For Nigeria!

"The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:6-8).         Listening to a brother detailing how Nigeria will be great again because it was foretold decades ago, I quieted down in my spirit to listen to him. According to him, the prophecies of old say that Nigeria will become a beacon of God's light to the rest of the world as they carry His Word to the rest of the world, especially in Africa. He enumerated the many qualities of Nigeria, especially the spiritual significance of her position within the continent of Africa. She will be used by God to trigger the last move of revival in the last days, he continued.         I listened attentively,...
