If there is a time humanity needs God, it is now! So
many confusing theologies and seemingly right teachings that appeal to our senses but these are deadening our sense of what is sin and what is not. Unfortunately, so
many saints have been swept away by the euphoria of the moment and are losing
sight of the doctrine of the word of God. It is not enough to claim to know Christ;
we are admonished to work out our salvation on a daily basis. What this simply
means is to live out that which we claim to believe in every facet of our
lives. Equally, we are to use the knowledge of God to overcome the strategies
of darkness. James 4 warns us to be on our guard about the conditions of our
hearts so as not to give in to the lure of darkness. God never said we should
run away from the earth so that we would not be trapped by the devil; the
command was for us to face the devil and resist him. Have you ever wondered why
the devil flees from us when we resist him? His fleeing from us is not because
we have suddenly become giants, NO! Rather when we resist, he knows the
resistance is not of us but a power that is at work IN us which is Jesus
Christ. We are not called to be on the defense against the onslaughts of
darkness but to be on the OFFENCE against it! This power, we cannot get by
having occasional walks with God, conditional walk (because of what we are
asking for) or congregational walk. But a walk that is personal, habitual and
consistent! A conscious walk based on confidence and conviction because we know
that our Redeemer lives! Being in a gathering of God fearing Christians without
partaking in the power behind the gathering does not make one a victorious Christian
no matter how much we whistle, shout, hoot or claim the promises. To have the
power, we must of a vital necessity seek Jesus Christ as we seek to eat and
breathe!
In 2 Chronicles 15:2, He said “Your Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will
be found by you, but if you abandon Him, He will abandon you”. Therefore, “draw near to God and He will draw near to
you” (James 4:8). When we do this, God not only protect us, He upholds us
so that the wave of darkness does not sweep us away. The world is feeling
abandoned and blaming God for its woes forgetting that they abandoned Him
first! Friends, there is no better time than this to take back our families,
schools, jobs, positions, communities and countries from the clutches of
darkness. It is indeed in these times we must rise up from the sleep of
complacency, political correctness and ‘safe’ Christianity and be who we have
been called to be. Priests that are warriors of the Most High God! God bless
you.
