A Dangerous Wind!

Have you ever noticed that there is always a subtle question mark put by satan behind every word of God? He shoots arrows of doubts into the unsuspecting heart to make such stumble and fumble in making the right decision. This is not a new trick of his; he used this same strategy to entrap the first man and woman in the Garden. He subtly questioned the integrity of God’s word which in turn caused terrible doubt to take root in the heart of the first couple. As a result of this, man had always tried to reason out the word of God; thus, questioning the integrity of His word. This questioning and doubts had undermined and still undermines man’s relationship with God. This terrible perversion has equally crept in unnoticed into the Body of Christ.  We were warned not to give ear or room to deceit and distortions which had culminated in shallow and deceptive philosophies that are based on basic earthy principles rather than on the word of God (Colossians 2:8). These deceptions have been successfully entrenched in the Body and coded as “deep truths” which ultimately undermines the power in the word of God.The result is falsehood and worship of idols rather than the true worship of the One true God: “You were running well. Who prevented you from obeying the truth? This persuasion did not come from Him who called you” (Galatians 5:7-8). The Galatians' and Colossian Churches fell into this error; they paid lip services to the word of God and did not depend on it as the source of their belief and practices. If they did, they wouldn’t have followed the patterns of pagan worship or traditions of setting aside “special days, months, seasons or years” (Galatians 4: 8-11) or undermine the justification that came by faith in the work of God through Christ Jesus: “I only want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now going to be made complete by the flesh? (Galatians 3:2-3).
The Bible clearly states that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Satan knows this too well, therefore, if he can make you question the validity of God’s word, he can destroy your faith and ultimately your salvation. So the question is what position should we now take so as not to be swept away by the winds of deception and delusion blowing from the pit of hell?

  • ·        First we must understand that the Word of God has been tested at all points and found to be true and flawless (Proverbs 30:5).

  • ·         The Word of God is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:1).

  • ·         God’s word is truth (John 17:17), it existed before any being or thought (John 2:1-2, Proverbs 8:30-31).

This implies that for us to know the pure word of God as His disciples we are to study and by revelation through the Holy Spirit abide in what we have learnt. We cannot use human logic, sentiments, customs, traditions and scientific evidences to prove the authenticity of the Word. Friends, the word of God is sufficient all by and in itself. In conclusion, the word of God brings sanctification (John 17:17). This is the primary evidence of the truth in the life of all who receive and follow the word of God in truth. Don’t be deceived; anytime a fallacy of satan is sold out as the truth, its effect is more depravity and further distance from God by man. The power to discern and abide in the TRUTH by hiding in Him away from the deadly winds of hell is released to all who desire this in Jesus Christ Name. God bless you.
