As
the coming of the Lord draws ever nearer, several unprecedented happenings,
decisions, policies and stance around the world that defies logic, negates our
beliefs and generally irritate the sensibilities of many will happen and is happening.
I can imagine how stupefied the people in the days of Noah were, when they saw
him building such a gigantic ship far from any huge body of water under clear
skies, no wonder they mocked and laughed at him, thereby sentencing themselves
to annihilation! This scenario is reenacting itself even in our days. Jesus
Christ used the same analogy to tell the people how His coming will be like.
Unfortunately, several thousands of years after, man is yet to learn this
lesson. The reason for this may be attributed in some cases to fear. Fear of
what to eat, to wear, to live and of the future have made so many align their
thoughts and beliefs to ways that negate the word of God. Friend, no matter
your circumstances, it is not enough for you to shift your ground concerning
your belief in Christ. The world teaches us that when faced with certain
inescapable situations we should shift grounds in order to have a win/win
situation. Unfortunately the reverse is the case in the Kingdom of God. There
is no win/win situation but a win/lose one. You either win with Christ or lose
with the devil; it all depends on your stance. Don’t allow fear of the unknown
make you say or do things that are contrary to God; it is better to be quiet
and allow God to do the talking! When faced with such situations that call to
question your faith in God, God says: “Do
not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right
hand” (Isaiah 41:10). The strength of God is released to you to hold on to Him
even as He holds you so as not to fall from your own stability. God bless you.
I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised. They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...
