Keeping Pure

       “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping Your word…” (Psalm 119:9). Listening to the political, social and economic rhetoric coming from around the world, it can be quite discouraging as it seems on a daily basis things are getting worse and those that are in position to do something about them seem to be at a loss as to what to do. On the other hand the human mind is getting depraved and is urged on by ungodly policies and the media. As the world draws to a close (don’t be deceived, it is), being a Christian and serving God in Spirit and in truth is increasingly difficult because evil is multiplying. As a result of this debacle evil is openly celebrated as good and good as evil. Furthermore, with the advancement in technology in the sphere of social media, entertainment and advertisements, the enemy is using these outlets to subtly capture as many minds as he can. Terrible suggestions from hell are made daily on these platforms and so many are hypnotized to carry out these evil suggestions without realizing it. 
       You might wonder, why hypnotism? This is a subtle method used by the enemy to embed his ideas into the minds and hearts of unsuspecting people through repetitions. When one sees a thing or hears a narrative over and over again, there is the tendency to lean towards or believe the thing whether one is aware of it or not. The devil uses this method of repeating his evil lines over and over again until the senses of the people are dulled and they begin to respond to his suggestions. To fight this, so many live on moral teachings and motivational speeches in order to live right, it’s a matter of time before they succumb to the wiles of the enemy. It’s as if the people are bewitched! God gave us a weapon to fight this terrible trick and win: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8). Beloved, the only way to escape the hypnotism of darkness is to meditate daily (every single day and night) not on alternate days in the word of God. That is the only barrier and panacea for the evil hypnotism upon the people of the world. 
       The devil understands the power of God’s word, we too must understand this and the significance so as not to lose our souls to hell: “…that He might sanctify and cleanse her (you and I) with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her (you and I) to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she (you and I) would be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:26-27, Emphasis mine). We cannot delude ourselves to think we can be tramps and touts on the inside and saints on the outside. You are either one or the other. 
       Beloved, to keep our way pure we must eat, drink, speak, sleep, pray, run (and all other words you can think of) in and on God’s Word. No wonder He tells us ‘day and night’, which means every waking moment of our lives. The enemy is relentless with his hypnotism we too must be relentless with our faith! Beloved, it is a fight for our souls, a fight for purity, a fight to the finish and a fight we can win because Jesus Christ has already won; but we must walk appropriately in the win! Beloved don’t live in self deceit, this world and everything in it is passing away only God’s word will stand. The devil is already working night and day to drag as many as he can to hell with him. You must dig in your heels, stand your ground and do the following in Christ Jesus: “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil…Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…” (Ephesians 6:11, 13-18b). Beloved, only by this, can we keep ourselves pure. May the Spirit of the Lord continually lead you in the path of righteousness as we await His soon return in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

         We live in a world where those who suppress the truth have the loudest voices. They are more persuasive in their arguments because their arguments sound logical and well-reasoned.
