He First Called Us To Himself

There are so many doctrines making the round now and if one is not assured of Whom he has come to believe, such will be swept away by these ‘right’ sounding doctrines. For instance, being the beginning of the year, there are so many arguments about the right way and right manner of serving God, thereby effectively drawing the attention of so many away from the true worship of God through Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul warned Timothy about such divisive persons that pretend to know the Scriptures but do not; unfortunately in their blabbing they draw men away from the Truth of God’s Word: “…These promote empty speculations rather than God’s plan, which operates by faith. Now the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith…They want to be teachers of the law, although they don’t understand what they are saying or what they are insisting on” (1 Timothy 1:4b, 5 and 7).
So that His sons will not be deceived just as Adam and the woman were in the Garden, Jesus Christ had to call those He wanted first to Himself, to teach and equip them for the task ahead. His purpose for doing this is so you and I will be and remain His regular companions, learning of Him and doing that which we see Him do regularly and constantly. This is the only way we would not fall into the relentless traps of the devil. He wants us in His house (Presence) continually and not as visitors! The Bible tells us that He called the Disciples to Himself first, gave them powers over the devils and powers to heal, then, He sent them out to preach. After they were done, they returned with outstanding results. Please understand that they returned to Him, they didn’t return to their homes, businesses, families or Rabbis; they returned to Him. Their returning was to get more from Him so they could go out to deliver as many as are appointed to salvation. Whom have you been returning to? The person you return to inform your message and your lifestyle: “For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).
Beloved, you want more of Jesus! Good! To what end? To spend on yourself? The Disciples returned every time they were sent out with amazing testimonies and more Grace was poured out on them to go out to do greater: “After they were released, they went to their own fellowship and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them…And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that Your slaves may speak with complete boldness, while You stretch out Your hand for healing, signs and wonders to be performed through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus…and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak God’s message with boldness” (Acts 4: 11, 29-30). Unfortunately, the Church is filled with wasted resources: People that have chosen to spend the resources of Heaven on themselves and their lusts.  The society is reeling from the effects of darkness because the sons of Light have chosen to hide their light, fruits and gifts under the bushel. Your being saved was not for yourself alone; you must equally go out, using all the platforms you are blessed with to win souls for the Kingdom of God, that is our marching orders: “Summoning His 12 disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out and to heal every disease and sickness” (Matthew 10:1). Failure to return to Him first is the reason so many lives and homes are in disarray. Beloved, we can only display what we have come to know and understand. You desire MORE of and from Him? Then return to Him FIRST, let Him take you by the hand and teach you. God bless you as you take this decision in Jesus Christ name.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

Are You A True Disciple? Part 1

This decade opened with very dire straits for mankind, as many people around the world woke up to a world that stood still as each nation shut their borders, homes and institutions shutting their doors. If many had been told this scenario could happen a couple of decades ago, one would say it was crazily impossible. But it did happen! Many lives and livelihoods were destroyed, and many institutions and lifestyles, including the Church, were affected. As terrible as the times were and still are, it is exposing the hearts and state of many 'sons of God'!         Many wondered aloud, 'What does the devil want for causing all this havoc?' And some went further to ask, 'What does God want?' The answer to both questions is 'Man' (male and female)! It is a battle between the Kingdom of God and darkness for the soul of man. As a result, man is being prepared both by God and the devil for eternity with either!         ...

It Is Time To Raise A Cry For Nigeria!

"The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:6-8).         Listening to a brother detailing how Nigeria will be great again because it was foretold decades ago, I quieted down in my spirit to listen to him. According to him, the prophecies of old say that Nigeria will become a beacon of God's light to the rest of the world as they carry His Word to the rest of the world, especially in Africa. He enumerated the many qualities of Nigeria, especially the spiritual significance of her position within the continent of Africa. She will be used by God to trigger the last move of revival in the last days, he continued.         I listened attentively,...
