The Birthing Position

“For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will accumulate teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, keep a clear head about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” – 2Timothy 4:3-5. “All these events are the beginning of birth pains” (Matthew 24:8).

      Throughout Scriptures, we see the world unfold as written and as planned by the Creator. In fact the history of the world is His Story. When the people of the world encounter happenings and phenomena they can hardly understand or interpret they go back to history to see if such had occurred before. This gives them solace and the belief that just as the one in the past was resolved, so will the present predicament. Not a bad idea! However, that is the way of the world. So many children of God try to reason in this manner when faced with predicaments of epic proportions as the world is currently facing with the COVID-19 pandemic and 5G technology. 

      There are so many theories as to what all these might mean. Sadly, some of the leaders of the Church have gone into history, science to calm down their followers. Many warn their followers not to believe that this may portend the coming of the anti-Christ or the Rapture. They believe the Rapture and the coming of the anti-Christ will not happen for another century at least. They explain that the Church is yet to enter the last days or the end times. They believe the Church (meaning them) still have a lot of time on earth! Some even go as far as telling their members that since God had promised them certain things, it is not possible for that same God to end the world. So many theories! It is clear that these explanations are geared towards making their followers comfortable in their state. Sadly, very few have gone back to seek the face of the Lord as to what is happening, to determine the next step in the agenda of God and how the Church should respond: “First, be aware of this: scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, following their own lusts, saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.’ They willfully ignore this: long ago the heavens and the earth existed out of water and through water by the word of God. Through these the world of that time perished when it was flooded by water. But by the same word the present heavens and earth are held in store for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and the destruction of ungodly men” (2Peter 3:3-7). 

      The present behavior in the Body of Christ is not new. The Disciples seeing all that was happening around them, came privately to Jesus to ask Him about the sign of His coming and the end of the age. He spoke at length to them concerning what would happen (Matthew 24) in the last days: “Dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape you: with the Lord one day is like 1,000 years, and 1,000 years like one day” (2Peter 3:8). Chapter 25 of Matthew started with “THEN” or “AT THAT TIME”, meaning, when the signs enumerated in chapter 24 are happening, the Kingdom of God is likened to: “…10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom. Five of them were foolish and five were sensible” (Matthew 25:1). What separated the wise from the foolish was the extra oil they carried. Beloved, the reason there is so much confusion among children of God as to what is happening and fear had seized so many hearts is the extra oil that they did not carry. Beloved, why are you afraid? And what are you afraid of? 

      The Lord went on to say: “Since the groom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep” (verse 2). The whole Church has been in sleeping mode. So many teachings about things that are temporal overtook the pulpits. Jesus Christ mandated His disciples to go into the world and MAKE more disciples like them: people that will run with the mandate that had been released by the Lord to His followers. Rather, disciples started making men millionaires, warriors fighting battles they do not understand, propagating outward holiness that belies the truth of God, moving people from one congregation to theirs and calling it evangelism! Beloved, the whole Church SLEPT! 

      However: “In the middle of the night there was a shout: ‘Here’s the groom! Come out to meet him’” (verse 6). Whether you are a post-tribulation, mid-tribulation or pre-tribulation Believer, we are in the MIDNIGHT HOUR, and a cry has gone out: THE KING IS COMING! PREPARE! It doesn’t matter how perfect or right sounding your argument may be, the questions are, how are you preparing your people and how prepared are you for His coming? This is the time to trim your lamp or to buy extra oil peradventure you do have enough! This is not the time to be pointing fingers, pulling down ministries or going to science or history books to prove your position. Is your garment washed, bright and ready? Is your lamp trimmed, and the extra oil you carry enough to see to when He will call you home? Beloved, don’t be deceived, this oil cannot be shared, you either have or you don’t. And if you don’t, this is a great opportunity to get some, and get enough! The days of ‘our pastor said’ or 'our papa said' or ‘our mama said’ or ‘our doctrine says’ have passed. The curtain separating the Holy of Holies  from the the Holy Place has been torn. You now have DIRECT access to the Master, YOURSELF! 

      Let us read the story further: “When they had gone to buy some, the groom arrived. THEN THOSE WHO WERE READY went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut” (verse 10). Now this is scary! Meaning even among the 5 wise ones, some did not make it because they were not ready. Lot’s wife would have been said to be wise, but because her heart was locked in Sodom, she didn’t make it. Beloved, if you claim to be a wise one, where is your heart? Because where your heart is, there your treasure will be. “Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall” (1Corinthians 10:11-12). It is deceitful and erroneous to think it will be a 50-50 chance in the Body of Christ, of those that will go with Him. Only those who were ready made it! 

    Finally, Beloved, take the birthing position! A woman that is about to give birth is not preoccupied with the noise around her but how the baby will be birthed safely. The world is experiencing birth pangs right now. Are you? If you are, what position have you taken? Beloved, I plead with you under God to take the birthing position!
