What Will Be Your Legacy?

“The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot” (Proverbs 10:7).

      If many of us were contemporaries of Daniel when the decree was passed that no one should petition any god or man except the king for 30 days (Daniel 6), many would have told him to apply wisdom in his worship of God, by quoting Scriptures for him: “…wisdom is profitable to direct” (Proverbs 10:10c). Many would have rebuked him by telling him how he should obey the authorities, and even welcomed his punishment when he didn't! Thank God he did not obey the edict, but went about as before in the worship of his God. And God vindicated him! Beloved, those times are not different from the one we live in now. The malaise ravaging our time now is greed and fear. Greed and fear has turned many great men to nonentities. Out of greed for money, power and fame, and the fear of losing such and even their lives have turned many to unrecognizable sons of God! Beloved, if you leave this earth, what will you be remembered for? What legacy will you leave behind? You may lie to yourself and family, but God will always have a remnant around you that sees through your lies. Out of greed and fear, so many have pulled down and made rubbish the lives and works of others. But Praise God, our approval is not from any man but from God! 

       Due to the pandemic that is ravaging the world, places of worship were hastily shut down. The excuse was such places will be breeding ground for the disease. Fair enough! Those that resisted because they believed their God is able to drive back the wave of the pandemic were quickly shut down and castigated. The argument was one can worship his or her God from the comfort of their homes. Fair enough! Suddenly market places, restaurants, mass transportation were free to open but places of worship kept shut! And the song is we can worship from the comfort of our homes! If there is one thing this pandemic has shown about many sons of God at this time is the cowardice in the hearts of many! If you believe the God you serve is ABLE, why are you afraid to gather even after some institutions have been told to re-open? Under our watch, a disease has been raised above the knowledge of God we claim to be ALL POWERFUL! Something is wrong with this picture! 

       Our beliefs are been trifled with yet many claim it is the right thing to do! This time has given space for the cowards to crawl out and say things they do not know about Jesus Christ! For as many as are discerning, they watch aghast and with shame as idols are being placed in the temple for men to bow to, all in the name of keeping the people safe! “We are ashamed because we have heard insults. Humiliation covers our faces because foreigners have entered the holy places of the LORD’s temple” (Jeremiah 51:51). Sadly the state of the Church is the direct reflection of the state of our hearts! Oh, where are the sons and daughters of Zion, the cubs of the Lion of Judah? So much silence upon the mountains, because the lions have gone to sleep! 

      Beloved, we would all stand before the King of kings and give account! What will yours be? How have your life and your living impact the living? The Bible tells us: “A good name is to be chosen over great wealth; favor is better than silver and gold” (Proverb 22:1) But we have made an art of pursuing wealth of silver and gold that we have neglected to look at the legacies we will be leaving behind; and the favor of God to shape our sphere of influence we have missed! Under our watch, the Church doors were shut! Now, policies are being formulated that will keep many shut, and how we should serve God. If I may ask, where is the place of the Holy Spirit? Out of cowardice many applaud these moves forgetting that they are being lulled to sleep by the drums of death! God is very clear, cowards (no matter how one coats it) will be cast into the lake of fire first (and I believe) because of the terrible damage they have inflicted on the Body: “The victor will inherit these things and I will be his God and he will be My son. But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars – their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:7-8). 

       Beloved, wake up from your slumber and look around. See with the eyes of the Spirit of God and stop judging in the flesh. The enemy is working round the clock to keep the sons of the Lion of the tribe of Judah from awakening to who they have been created to be! Beloved, wake up, there is so much land to possess! Don’t allow the enemy and his agents use you or your influence to hinder the Church! Awake and trim your lamps, because the King of kings is coming and His reward is with Him! God bless you!
