What Did You Receive?

Many think the life of being a Born Again Christian is a life that will improve their present life, magically disappear all that ails them and catapult them to the centre or zenith of their desires. This is not true! Sadly, in this present dispensation, so many are preoccupied with themselves, for themselves and after themselves.
Beloved, have you ever pondered on what will happen after the curtain falls and you bow out of this present world, where will your eternal abode be? Have you ever considered if the content of what you believe in will grant you a place in eternity with God? Would He appreciate and reward us for our daily fleshly pursuits, our desire to be better 'though we fall several times a day', the relentless pursuit of our goals but spending less time in knowing Him or 'striving' to know Him more? What do you think the verdict will be?
"It was for you first of all that God raised up His Servant and Son [Jesus], and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways” (Acts 3:26, AMP). Jesus Christ came, died and rose again not just to bless us with power, money, health, deliverance, vanquishing of our enemies and the like, but the essence of His coming was to give us the blessing of Transformation. Transforming us from the path of death to the path of Life, to ultimately be like Him.
He did not live, die and resurrect to embellish our old lives of corruption. Because a life without Jesus at the Centre is a life of corruption! He did not come to improve our lives but to transform them! Many truly serve God: they give their all to Him, yet they are riddled with selfish ambition, greed, jealousy, competitiveness, unforgiveness, lying and the like. Sadly, these always look for Scriptures to justify their 'bent' nature: "I can assure you that they are deeply devoted to God, but their devotion is not based on true knowledge. They have not known the way in which God puts people right with himself, and instead, they have tried to set up their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God's way of putting people right" (Romans 10:2-3, GNT).
Some others are so enamoured with the compensation they receive from Him that they take their eyes off the Master completely, yet still serve. Beloved, if the Gospel you claim to have received is not producing the life of Jesus Christ in you, then you have received the Gospel of Lies! If the power you claim to have received is not causing a drastic and complete change in your life, then you have received a different gospel: "By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment]" (1 Corinthians 15:2, AMP).
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is to spiritually transform, renew, and set us apart for His use, not ours! Don't be deceived, the Salvation of God is not to improve your life but to completely CHANGE It! It must produce the life and nature of Jesus Christ in you! It doesn't matter what we had heard, or what 'signs' we saw to make us believe; if the Gospel you claim to have faith in doesn't transform your mind from the earthy and murky state it once was to the mind of Christ, something is wrong with the gospel you received! Please, delete it from your heart!
Now, this is the transformative working power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: "And we also thank God continually for this, that when you received the word of God [concerning salvation] which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its inherent, supernatural power in those of faith]" (1 Thessalonians 2:13, AMP). When we receive God's Word, He effectively works in us the very intention and counsel of God.
Finally, do not allow the enemy to deceive you that the Old Testament of the Bible is not God's Word and to be discounted. That's not true! He is the Content of the Old and the Centre of the New. The whole testament is the TESTAMENT OF JESUS CHRIST designed to transform you to be like Him! What have you received? What light are you carrying within you? Make sure it is the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that burns within you: "Be careful, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness" (Luke 11:35, AMP). You cannot wallow in your sins in this new life and claim it is the gospel of Christ you are following. If the light within you is darkness despite the fact you claim you are a child of God, sadly, that light is darkness and it is the direct result of the gospel of lies - a faulty gospel!

Please, do ponder on these words. May the LORD Grant you clarity, the grace to stand and remain inside of Him, as we await His return, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen! God bless you!

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...

An Answer To Almighty God's Question

"So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:5-8).         As the Coming of the LORD draws ever closer, there is an increase in dryness, apathy and preoccupation with the world and its treasures in the hearts and minds of many children of God. Looking around our Nation (Nigeria), one would realise that things are not as they should be. The realities on the ground give the impression that the institutions that ought to regulate the lives of the citizen...

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...
