As we await the imminent return of the LORD Jesus Christ, we enter a time of great exposure and blessing. All that had been hidden will be revealed, all that had been a lie will be exposed, and those who can discern these things and make adjustments to their lives will be greatly blessed in this time!
As the Church Age draws to a close, we see and understand the Scriptures more clearly by the Help of the Holy Spirit, as we see Scriptures literary play out before our eyes. These are the times we must strengthen our resolve to serve Him more dearly and follow Him more closely. Failure to do this is to fall into all manner of errors orchestrated by the devil through his agents to derail as many from the path of righteousness and eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Many strange but carefully crafted teachings are flooding the pulpits and airwaves to distract, confuse and steal the hearts of children of God from Him. As we walk daily in the LORD in truth, we mature and can see all that we come across as opportunities to grow in Him: "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love" (Romans 5:3-5, NLT).
In Genesis 22, God told Abraham to take the son, his only son, whom he loves, and sacrifice same to Him on the mountain he will be shown by the LORD. This was a tough ask, even for us today. Beloved, as the days progress and we are certain in our hearts that we are awaiting His return, nothing should be of more importance to you than the LORD. Understand this, whatever is of more importance in your heart controls your attention and drives your desire: "...For by whatever anyone is defeated and overcome, to that [person, thing, philosophy, or concept] he is continually enslaved" (2 Peter 2:19b, AMP).
Abraham obeyed the instruction of the LORD because he held God dear in his heart, even though it was a painful ask; and he knew exactly what to do. Besides his son, he took a donkey, two servants, wood, knife and fire. When he was eventually shown the mountain, he left his two servants and donkey behind and proceeded with his son and the articles for a burnt offering.
Beloved, as we proceed this year, we will only know what to do when faced with decisions if we are in step (walking in obedience) with the LORD Jesus Christ. Abraham understood that no matter how trustworthy his servants were, they could not and mustn't climb the mountain with him. From human reasoning, the servants might restrain him from carrying out God's instructions.
Beloved, there comes a time that certain habits, attitudes, and associations must be dropped for you to enter in and carry out the instructions of the LORD for your life perfectly and adequately; to receive the blessing He has for you: "You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]" (Isaiah 26:3, AMP).
May God help you to walk in step with Him daily as He shows you and teaches you how to access the great things He has in store for you, in Jesus Christ name, Amen! God bless you.
