Those Last Few Minutes...

A group of 6 friends was discussing what goes through the mind of a person a few minutes before their death. Two of them felt the highlights of the life of the person will flash through his mind before he bows out in death. One felt such a person will go to purgatory where such can repent of his sins and believe God to go to Heaven. The others believe nothing will happen as the person will just fade out and be one with the universe. According to the first two, if the memories are good then such will end in heaven as they will die happy, but if bad, they will end in hell so they die sad and terrified. Some felt this was wrong as man is dust and he will return to dust - a state of 'nothingness'.         They  all agreed and felt they should enjoy life as much as possible, on their terms and not on someone else's. They reminded themselves of the following Scripture so they can be strengthened in their sinful lives: "Both go to the sa...

Know Him Truly

As the world spirals to a close and many in the Church are trying to play 'catch-up' with it, one can only wonder, do these children of God trying to play 'catch up' truly know and understand the God they claim to serve? Many, in trying to fit into the mold of the world are quick to come up with excuses for the people outside of the Kingdom, so such do not feel condemned or left out. Of course, these children of God don't want to come across as being judgmental or critical of their sinning neighbors and friends.         Sadly, under our watch, because of this tolerance for evil and the works of darkness, many things that ought to be seen as sin are renamed to make them tolerable! We forgot that our mandate was for us to go make 'disciples' of the nations, to teach them the life of Christ. Sadly, the world is the one mentoring the sons of God to be 'like' them because of their successes, especially in the financial field! It then become...

The Midnight Cry

"I saw among the inexperienced, I noticed among the youths, a young man lacking sense" (Proverbs 7:7 HCSB). We have entered once more the season when many will lose their senses and throw caution to the wind in the guise of celebrating 'love'. Sadly, many at this time will stumble, misstep, and fall on their way to destiny; as a result, many will miss their path completely because of a few minutes of pleasure in celebrating 'love': "So she seduced him with her pretty speech and enticed him with her flattery. He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter. He was like a stag caught in a trap, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life" (Proverbs 7:21-23 NLT).         For as many as have eternity in their hearts, they know that Heaven and Hell are REAL. It is a place everyone on earth will end up in after they exit this life. Our actions here o...

How Prepared Are You?

There is an urgency in the air! Though masked as climate change experiences, the world systems and western governments have concluded that time is running out for the people on earth. Their reasons, their conclusion, and solutions may be very outstretched, but one thing they got right is that time is indeed running out for the people of the world!         At a particular point in time, as prophesied by Prophets of old, God came down as man and made His dwelling among people, to turn them from their wicked ways into right standing with Him. At this time, we were told that He loved the whole world and He gave His Son to die for it. For as many as believe and receive Him, He gave them the power to be His sons, and they are saved! He was crucified, dead, and buried, and He rose again with the promise that He would return!         For as many, as believed and received Him, there is a state of readiness we must be in...

Putting Our Relationships In The Right Perspectives

"The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” He Himself will deliver you from the hunter’s net, from the destructive plague. He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield" (Psalms 91:1-4, HCSB).        'In this New Year, what do you think one should concentrate on?' A young man asked his friend. 'I believe one should invest in and cultivate right and strong relationships', his friend replied. 'Relationships', he continued, 'can open doors for you to make money, get influence and succeed in every area of one's life. It is impossible to go wrong with the right relationship'. 'You are right' the young man replied, 'if there is something I had discovered, those that made it did so through the right strong relationships they cultivat...

In Retrospect...

I once sat under an amazing Preacher expounding on the desire of God for us to live an abundant rich life. According to her, that was the whole reason why Christ came, lived, and died for us. This message resounded greatly among the Congregants. Everyone wanted out of a life of struggle, never having enough, and desires and expectations not being met. Everyone wanted an abundance of everything good in this life! However, as great and acceptable as this message was, it seemed like an incomplete one in my heart.         So many of us are on the pews because of what we think we would get. If the money runs dry for some, they will begin to question and doubt their faith. The Scripture: "...I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10b NKJV) has been taught in all forms as God telling us to be wildly prosperous (moneywise of course). Prosperity is good, don't get me wrong, but when it is not ba...

This Same Jesus

A world riddled with violence, sin, and every form of darkness stops to celebrate the birth of someone they have refused to acknowledge that His life, living, death, and resurrection are for them. Indeed a paradox! A world that believes that as long as they celebrate or remember Him as an innocent, defenseless, and harmless babe living in a manger, He will not return or at least, will delay His return. Some have even gone to the extent to say He has returned and is walking among us. They are not the only ones to be fooled so.         When Jesus was giving the final instructions to His disciples before He ascended to Heaven, it was as if there were cotton balls stuffed in their ears! Jesus explicitly told them: "While He was together with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “This,” He said, “is what you heard from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy S...
