Care Giving: A Possible Role For Every Woman In Christ

Proverbs 31: 10-27. Care giving is truly a role for every child of God, irrespective of their gender, race or class.  It is not only a possibility but a commandment not only to love our neighbors but to care for one another.  However, for the sake of this discourse, we will be looking at the role of the woman in care giving. Before a woman can care the way Christ wants her to care, she must be a virtuous woman. When we read all that the woman did in Proverbs 31 from verse 10 to the end, she looked and sounded super human. She is too good to be true. No wonder the Bible says who can find her, for she is far more precious than jewels. This super human feat is attainable however.

The only woman who can attain or achieve that feat is a virtuous one; one who have had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is virtue that flows from the Lord into her that makes her virtuous and super human. You might declare ‘oh He has done that to me’, or ‘I have had an encounter.’ Thank God for you, but there is a need to abide in Him. A need to constantly check your life to see that you are still in the faith and the virtue is still flowing. True, a person that has an encounter with the Lord never remains the same, but sometimes, such a person can forget and walk into error! For instance, Peter eating with the Gentiles when there were no disapproving Jews around in Galatians 2:11-14. Immediately the Jews arrived he played the hypocrite and stopped eating with the Gentiles. Remember, he had an encounter with the Lord, the Lord even specifically told him not to segregate between the people in Acts 10. What then happened to him in Galatians 2:11-14? The Bible asks in Psalm 24 'who shall ascend the hill of the Lord and who shall abide in His holy place', it went on to give the condition that will make a man abide or remain on the hill. Friend, there is an ascending to be done and there is a need to abide as well.

Look at Martha, she had an encounter and even served the Master, but she left His presence because she refused to lay down her preconceived ideas. Mary on the other hand, remained in His presence. Compare the Lord’s reactions to them in John 11. Mary served and worshiped the Lord in John 12:1-8 with all she had. We must both serve and worship the Lord. Doing one without the other is a counterfeit life. When a woman mixes these two, the result is the life we saw in Proverbs 31:10-end. This woman is able to do the following:
1.       Bring good all the days of her life.
2.       Bring honor to her husband, family, church and her environment.
3.       She is strong and raised up in integrity.
4.       Not selfish in her dealings. Sharing the word and taking care of the physical needs of those in her care. The reason why so many are dissatisfied with their lives is because they are idle in the house of the Lord and in their lives.
5.      Her beauty glows from the inside out.
6.   Her service and worship like a sweet smelling aroma attracts people into the Kingdom.
This is not a position of weakness but a position of strength. Arise my sisters and be who God has created you to be because you have what it takes inside of you. Just Connect with Him.
