No Man To Work It

Have you noticed that there is a dearth of good men on the earth? God had called us to be leaders in every niche we have found ourselves. Leaders that know the way show the way and walk on the way. But what do we have? From the home front to Government; men are clueless on how to run their lives in an acceptable manner. Fathers, mothers, Husbands, wives, children, employers, employees, students, teachers all seem not to understand what they have been called to do. If we all truly understand our roles then the world will indeed be a better place to live in. The intention of God is that the whole world will be filled with His knowledge and covered with His glory just as the waters cover the seas. To achieve this, we must all do what Psalm 34:3 say “Proclaim with me the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt His name together.” Unfortunately, discordant voices are what are raised in the private and in public, thus a cacophony of noise. This is definitely not the intention of the Lord. No matter

Quiet Confidence

We expect that when we serve God faithfully, the Lord should make it a point of duty to keep disasters far away from us. However, the goal of our Lord Jesus Christ is to make us like Him in all areas of our lives. He will continue to arrange situations that will be used to train us to be like Him. 2Chronicles 29 opened with the introduction of King Hezekiah. The Bible says he did what was right in the Lord’s sight just as his ancestor David had done. This was a great testimony considering that he had a father that was an idol worshipper; he was able to step out of such influence with courage and boldness. As a result God approved him as an instrument for revival in Judah and Israel. God used him to awaken the Priests and Levites to their duties. He even acted as a Priest and unlike king Uzziah he was not punished. The verdict of Heaven about him in 2Chronicles 31:20-21 was that he did well in the service of God, his heart sought God and he prospered. One would imagine that with these

Indeed Called!

Several people are disillusioned with their walk with the Lord. They believe He does not answer their prayers no matter how much effort they put in by praying, fasting and giving. After awhile they begin to question if God actually called them. Unfortunately, their local assemblies seem not to understand their plight, since they are born again they believe they should be alright. Someone once said that so many servants of God have changed the Scripture that says we should go and make disciples of men, what they are making are believers. Just get them ‘born again’; what they do thereafter is not much of their concern! When these new converts come into the fold they are unable to connect with the God they have been introduced to. The basic elementary teachings of God they are not taught yet they are made to handle units they are ill-equipped for whilst slowly decaying and dying on the inside. Those that remain try to play along for awhile whilst others return into the world worse off.

The Wise Man 2

There is a Scripture that when I come across it all times my heart skips a beat – “‘My people are foolish and do not know Me’, says the Lord. ‘They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right.’” – Jeremiah 4:22. Heavy!!! The question that jumps to mind is at what point did this children of God miss it that they became foolish and thoughtless, even to do good - they have no idea? Let us see an explanation in Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT) – “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” With this, we can conclude that any decision or action that does not originate from the Lord is not only thoughtless and foolish but dangerous. So as not to be senseless, we need the mind of God and to get it we will not only go into Him we must remain in Him. He is not a Ve

The Wise Man

The times we live in are very dangerous and we need to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves to navigate the murky waters of the world on a daily basis. So many people face disappointments on a daily basis because of wrong decisions and judgments and ‘the best of talents’ are cut down by wrong decisions and judgments. Something is grossly wrong! When Our Lord Jesus Christ said we should be wise He was pointing out to us that we will be operating in a world that is overrun by evil; we cannot operate like them but must be wiser on a daily basis than them. Thus the wisdom from above is: “…first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” – James 3:17. This we must crave to operate successfully in this world. Wisdom of God does not come on a person because of his age, race, creed, education or his vast experience. All these are recipes of the worldly wisdom

VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATION: IS IT OF GOD? 2

This evil celebration has been successfully traced back to the queen of heaven (Babylon the great) whom the devil used to release these terrible demons of lust and bring glory to himself. The spirit of the ‘queen of heaven’ provided uninhibited habitation for these demons of lust and terrible passionate desire which are able to seduce men and women to lose their minds and seek to have their appetites for sex and every immoral desire attached to it fulfilled. This is why the minds of those under the bondage of these seducing spirits are always pre-occupied with sex and other sexual perversions. Examples of these sexual perversions are lust, transvestitism, homosexuality, bestiality, masturbation, lesbianism, party spirit, nymphomaniacs and many other evil spirits. Once a man is under the influence of these spirits, he or she lives a life of being manipulated and controlled by the demons in charge and this starts with the desire and hunger to be accepted by others, to be seen, taken or u

VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATION: IS IT OF GOD? 1

Where exactly does the celebration of Valentine come from? If we claim as most do, that our forefathers in Christendom handed it down to us, where did they get it from? The most prevalent and popular claim is that a Catholic monk named Valentine once lived, did good and sent gifts to people around him. After his death was raised to sainthood and has ever since then being celebrated.   If truly he was a man that did so much good, what is strangely unique in that? He only performed his duties to his fellow humans as he ought to.   The Bible says in Luke 17:7-10 (NLT): “When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep does his master say, ‘come in and eat with me’? No, he says ‘prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’ And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not! In the same way, when you obey Me, you should say ‘we are unprofitable slaves who have simply done our duty’.” So many did well, s

Yet Another Call

Can two walk together without an agreement? God is not man to be served on our terms and conditions. No matter how great and mighty the promises are they will all be recieved through a process. No amount of manipulation or cajoling will make Him okay us without the process He had laid down. Thus, no matter what we go through which the Bible calls ‘light afflictions’, once we remain in Him these blessings and more will come to pass in our lives. Esther 1:1-end gives a vivid description of the relationship some children of God have with the Lord. Verse 7 of that Scripture describes the might, wealth and generosity of the King’s heart. With all this wealth, his greatest joy and treasure is the Queen! So are we in the Heart of the Most High God. Despite the display and the glory of the sun and the starry hosts in Psalm 19:1-6, Psalm 8:3-9 shows that man is the crowning glory of all that the Lord God created. No wonder He gave man the utmost gift, to dominate all that He had created. But wh

Dare To Hang Your Life Upon His Word!

“I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel…Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the Lord will have faithful love surrounding him.” Psalm 32:8, 10. Have you ever tried to dress a precocious 4 year old who thinks she knows all there is to know in clothing, you try to put on her warm clothes because the weather is cold but she would rather wear her halter neck top with a short skirt? After much teachings and tantrums you let her have her way; then she comes back some time later, tearfully saying she is cold. What do you do? You lovingly scold her and wear her proper clothes. That is the way so many are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we refuse to take His counsel, He will not force us but wait for us as a loving Father until we come to our senses. He has promised us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

A True View of God

Imagine this great tragedy: A woman walks with God for 40 years, fully saved, redeemed and following Christ. She comes before the throne at the resurrection, and for the first time, she realizes what she’s missed. She feels wave upon wave of pleasure flowing from the Son of God and says to herself, “I could have drunk from this well of spiritual delight every day on Earth. I just had to encounter Your heart and Your beauty. Life would have been so much better! Everything would have changed, and I would have accomplished so much more.” Many Christians are like the woman I’ve described: they spend their days on Earth believing that Jesus is harsh instead of tender, mad instead of glad and distant instead of affectionate. When they finally see Him as He truly is, they will be filled with regret at not having spent their time on Earth radically pursuing His heart and reaping the amazing pleasures. Beloved, we don’t have to wait to experience these deep pleasures! God has ordained for the

Leave!

Severally we have sung and claimed the blessings of Abram but very few ponder on the journey of obedience that brought such favor upon Abram’s life. Very few even embark on that same journey as he did; yet we all lay claim to this blessing. Abram in obedience to the Lord left his country, relatives and his father’s household and was made a great nation. Do you want this blessing? It is not in singing and claiming; it is in action! This blessing is tied to the call the Lord has given you. When Abram left in obedience, he became a great nation such that the whole earth till date is blessed through him. Genesis 12:1 states “Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.” Several of us have heard God speak to us expressly in this manner and we are yet to obey. The version above says it is to our advantage if we leave all that He is asking us to leave. Let u

Our Dependable Ally

We have seen God move in our lives in ways we could only conclude that if not for Him there was no way it would have happened for us as it did! Like King Asa in 2Chronicles 14, when faced with a formidable enemy, we cried to the Lord and He rescued us from things that were too strong for us. One thing that is remarkable about the Lord is: when we obey Him, we see His mighty hand at work in our lives. After King Asa’s great victory against an army that greatly outnumbered his in size and weaponry, the Lord reminded him through His prophet in chapter 15: 2 “If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you abandon Him, He will abandon you.” This was a wake-up call for King Asa and for us that no matter the victory the Lord God hands over to us we must not become complacent in our service to Him as this will eventually lead us away from Him. As long as you keep seeking Him, you will always find Him. Sadly, if you abandon Him, He will abandon you too! You cannot afford to abandon Him wh
