Dare To Hang Your Life Upon His Word!

“I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel…Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the Lord will have faithful love surrounding him.” Psalm 32:8, 10. Have you ever tried to dress a precocious 4 year old who thinks she knows all there is to know in clothing, you try to put on her warm clothes because the weather is cold but she would rather wear her halter neck top with a short skirt? After much teachings and tantrums you let her have her way; then she comes back some time later, tearfully saying she is cold. What do you do? You lovingly scold her and wear her proper clothes. That is the way so many are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we refuse to take His counsel, He will not force us but wait for us as a loving Father until we come to our senses. He has promised us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”  The only means He has provided to achieve this is through His Word; His word which is His command is geared towards bringing us to an expected end. When we were created according to Psalm 139: 13-16, the Lord had an expected end in mind for each of us. However, when we wriggle out of His hands like a precocious 4 year old, His purpose and plans for our lives cannot come to pass. So many feel they can get a prosperous life without God, TRUE! But you cannot sustain a prosperous life without Him! Jesus said concerning the new creation man that he shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Except one completely and consciously yield to the word so as to live by it, no matter his circumstances and stations in life, such cannot fulfill God’s utmost purpose for his life. It sounds ominous but the truth! He alone has the blueprint for our lives not us! His word is not just an expression of idea in a language we understand, His Word is Him! His Word is different from wishful and positive thinking that elevates self. His Word is life – It breathes life and light into inanimate, dark and impossible situations. The devil’s argument to push a child of God away from the Word is always to appeal to reason: suggesting that it is impossible and unrealistic to believe totally in the Word of God. Do remember that it is in the realm of our thoughts that the enemy wages the hottest battles by telling us it is hard and unattainable to rely totally on God.  However, to get the right result for our lives, we must consciously live and walk according to the Word of God. No matter how reluctant your disposition is or how unintelligent it seems to everyone around you, whatsoever He says to you – DO IT! This is the only basis for us to be sure of continual answer to every prayer and petition we bring before our loving and gracious Father and Lord, Jesus Christ. God bless you.

       I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them.
