When
we compare the news report headlines all over the world, the prevalent picture
shows a world that is spiralling out of control in everything that is inimical
to the growth of any society. Comparing these headlines to the end-time prophecies
of the Bible, we can safely conclude that God's game clock is running out: that
it's way past halftime in our world! In fact, it could be that our world and
our generation are hearing God's two-minute warning. When football players hear
that warning, they throw caution to the wind, they make every second count and
they do whatever it takes to get points on the score-board. Jesus Christ said,
"We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the One who sent us. The
night is coming, and then no one can work.” (John 9:4 – NLT). It seems to me that Team Jesus - all of us
who claim to follow Him - should be doing no less! We should be moving beyond
maintenance mode to taking new grounds for the Kingdom. We should be serving
and giving like there may not be a lot more tomorrows. Friend, the time has
come and is NOW to forget turf and forget territory! He is coming for His BODY not
bodies. It is time to wage a united battle for the lost souls in our towns!
Let's refuse to let our fears keep us any longer from telling that lost friend,
neighbour or relation about our Jesus Christ. It is time to abandon the suspicions
and tentativeness that are bred by uncertain times like these, and trade it in
for selfless and bold actions that these times demand. This is no time to
settle for being on the sidelines or in the stands, or hiding out in some holy
huddle! Neither is it time to be heading for the locker rooms or sitting on the
ball. This game is too big to forfeit, and it's too costly to lose. Remember,
the enemy hungers to win but we must be hungrier to win! God bless you.
I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised. They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...
