Be Assured! 2

When times of testing comes so many doubt the word of God, by questioning the veracity of what they had heard because they had prayed and the challenge refuses to budge. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 3:7-8 (AMP) “Therefore as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice do not harden your hearts as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness…” the Bible says the children of Israel were embittered against the Lord because they felt what they got was not what He promised them. You might be feeling same, thinking what you are going through you did not deserve especially if you had been in that situation for awhile. Let’s back track a bit and hear what the Lord says in Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. All of you take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for yourselves.” God expects us to bring all our burdens and lay them at His feet and then we must ‘learn from Him’. What are we to learn from Him in this circumstance? The answer is found in Matthew 6:33 (AMP) “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His Kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right) and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” What the Lord is simply telling us is to seek – search out His instructions for that situation. For every challenge we face in life, there is an instruction to resolve it. Any time king David faced challenges that were bigger than him; he would always run to the Lord for instructions. Beloved, the solution to those nagging issues is not in any man but with the Lord. We must search out the instructions from the Lord and carry them out. So many times, we have received the instructions for the challenges we are facing but because we expect them to be resolved in a particular manner, or the instructions are cumbersome, we don’t carry them out. The instruction may just be to sow an Abel seed and immediately the doors we have been battering for so long will open. Friend, it is time to return to the stronghold (Christ) and seek the instructions to overturn the situation. When you find the instruction, don’t harden your heart but faithfully carry it out. The grace, strength and staying power to seek and carry out the instructions is released to you in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...

An Answer To Almighty God's Question

"So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:5-8).         As the Coming of the LORD draws ever closer, there is an increase in dryness, apathy and preoccupation with the world and its treasures in the hearts and minds of many children of God. Looking around our Nation (Nigeria), one would realise that things are not as they should be. The realities on the ground give the impression that the institutions that ought to regulate the lives of the citizen...

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...
