Be On Guard

“You can do whatever you want, all you have to do is believe in Jesus!” With such declarations, ‘children’ of God are told to do whatever they want after all He is the God of the second, third, tenth, twentieth etc chance! ‘As many chances as you want dear, He is all that’. These teachers forget Hebrews 12: 16-17. Grace, love and mercy of God have been turned into licenses for sin and a licentious life-style! These strange teachings being churned out from pulpits, if one is not careful such will be swept away by this evil tide. If you listen carefully you would notice that the teachings of Christ have been so simplified and watered down to the point of error and sacrilege!  The proponents of this ‘anything goes’ gospel argues that the Kingdom has been made wide open so that many hitherto would not have had the opportunity because of the ‘judging sermons’ can now come in. This question then readily comes to mind: ‘if this is working why is sin commonplace in the house of the Lord?’ Things that are frowned at in Scriptures are being excused away and instead of Churches Discipling men, they are growing fan clubs. Friend, Jesus Christ saw these times and warned us in Luke 21:34-36 to be watchful and on our guard. We must not allow our minds to be dulled from carousing, drunkenness and the worries of life. Look around you from the pulpits to the world scene, teachings and principles all geared towards dulling the mind. In the process of telling the congregation not to worry about life, they are then introduced to outlandish prosperity and self-aggrandizement teachings that dull the mind to the true teachings of the Word of God. Such a mind thinks he has been brought into the world to please himself! This is not true! Thus any teaching that challenges or points his mind back to the true teachings of Christ is rebuffed. Jesus Christ’s return is already here and He warns us not to let the day come upon us like a trap. Meaning there will be no way out as so many will be caught unprepared. He admonishes us to be alert, attentive, discreet and ready at all times. We must be like the Berea Christians that always go back home to find out if what they had been taught is in line with the Scriptures. We must do the same so that this DAY will not close in on us like a noose. Friend, once what we have been taught is not in line with the word of God we must discard them immediately. We must continually pray for the Strength of God to escape these things and to stand before the Lord on that day, because without God’s strength, we cannot stand against the wave of strange teachings being churned from the pit of hell to distract and finally sidetrack the child of God from the grace, mercy and love of God. The grace to discern, stand and remain standing is released to you in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...

...And His Name Was Nabal

We live in a world that has short-term memory. The memory life span of many is so short, that mistakes and circumstances that brought them sorrow are repeated without a thought to the fact that what they are doing they had done before with dire consequences. As a result of this attitude, many have grown more wilful towards the things of God. One of the signs of the end time, according to 2 Timothy 3, is people being ungrateful. Being ungrateful means not showing gratitude for help, gifts or kindness they received; a feeling of entitlement to whatever they think they have received.         Being ungrateful is a state of mind that believes that the good things that happen to them is deserving, and they do not see any reason to be thankful for them. So was the case of a man named Nabal (which means 'Fool') in the Bible. He was a harsh and evil man in his dealings, yet a very wealthy man in the region he lived in. From the account of his l...
