Finishing Well 2

Except God’s will becomes yours you cannot receive revelations from Him that will help you in this journey of life. You may know and be able to quote a lot of Scriptures, do all the right things; except your will is subsumed in God’s they are just mere words and activities. When a person is outside the will of God such cannot do well neither can such finish well. So many teach and believe that their strength and intellect will determine how they live and will end. Unfortunately, we have seen over and over again that is not the case; everything concerning a man is not at his prerogative but God’s. No wonder when Job had an encounter with the Almighty God he repented in dust and ashes of the harsh words he had spoken concerning Him. If a person had not had encounter with God, he believes all he needs is in his hands and that is what will determine his end. You may do awesome and great things but your end is determined by your stand with God. No wonder the Psalmist said in Psalm 33:16-17: “A king is not saved by a large army; a warrior will not be delivered by great strength. The horse is a false hope for safety; it provides no escape by its great power.” Friend, you cannot be saved by the number of people you know, your strength or abilities. Your qualifications and plans are vain hope for your future. Jeremiah 9:23-24: “This is what the Lord says: ‘The wise must not boast in his wisdom; the mighty must not boast in his might; the rich must not boast in his riches. But the one who boasts should boast in this, that he understands and knows Me – that I am the Lord, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things.’ This is the Lord’s declaration.” God said this because the world measures success in three criteria – wisdom, power and wealth. Wisdom - the man communicates insights and influences others. Power – the man strives to gain advantage over others. Wealth – the man accumulates and control wealth. However, the verdict of God is that all these do not hold water without having knowledge of Him. To know God is to have an encounter with Him and continue to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Psalm 30:7 tells us that by the favour of God you are made secure. Reliance on prosperity or feeling secure in temporal things is not only false but also a path to destruction! When God withdrew His favour and mercies, trouble stared him in the face and he was terrified. Saul and Jonathan were men that lived successful lives according to the standards of the world but did not finish well with God. All that remained after them by way of testimony is a barren mountain. They were successes with the world but wretched with the Lord (Revelation 3:15-22). David on the other hand left legacies that still live on till this day. David was the only king that saw his son installed before he died. Why? He was not only faithful to God’s word but he realized he was nothing without God. Of course, the Lord blessed him and made him secure. As you run this race, in all your planning and striving, make it all in the circle of God’s will; then He will make you as He did David secure and favoured till the end. God bless you.

You Are What Matters Most To Jesus Christ

"When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]" (Genesis 17:1, AMP).        A while back, I overheard a conversation between two young men; both were wondering how a person can be and remain holy in a world that daily encourages you to exhibit and enjoy every self-indulgent pleasure one desires. Of course, they knew the Scripture in Psalm 119:9-11, which describes how a young man can keep his way pure, but they feel it is increasingly becoming difficult to discern the way of the Lord from the world system. To them, many Pastors and children of God have been won over by the kingdom of darkness to subvert the principles of God as written in the Bible.           They were not wrong, in light of some of the teaching coming from the pulpits! The above ...

Finding True Love

From the beginning of time, God Almighty has sought various means of communicating His thoughts and desires to humanity. Through the very things He has created around us, He clearly reveals His divine nature and our predestined purposes as the object of His love to those who care enough to pay attention.  His goal has always been to set men free from all that limits them from experiencing an abundant life. There is no doubt that the present life as we know it, with all its hurts, pains and heartbreak was never meant to be this way; indeed the enemy has done this.         Friends, if He created the earth with hidden and precious treasures, then how much more you? The enemy, on the other hand, has worked overtime to create things that bind, blind, limit, and ultimately stop us from fulfilling our God-given destinies. His most successful strategies are those which are subtle and appeal to our fleshly desires, just as...

The Perverted Love Of St Valentine's Day

We live in a world where those who suppress the truth have the loudest voices. They are more persuasive in their arguments because their arguments sound logical and well-reasoned. However, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not necessarily mean it is the truth. At the same time, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not mean it is of God. So many claim they do not care where it originates from, but they agree with and have bought into its message. If that is your stance, then you need to hear this because what you believe and have bought into is a lie. Remember, ignorance is not bliss but a dangerous position to occupy as many ‘ignorants’ abound in hell!        The argument for celebrating St. Valentine's Day is loud and sounds logical but it is not the truth, nor is it of God! It is not of God because the love that Jesus Christ portrays carries within it the responsibility of self-sacrifice whilst that o...
