A disturbing trend is taking place in the
Church and as children of God we must rise and turn the tide that has risen to
overwhelm and silence the Church of the Living God! Praise God that the keys of
the Kingdom has been given to the Church and no better time than these to use
them. These are very critical times that we must arise and walk in the Truth
that is Christ Jesus and fulfil the mandate of God upon our lives.
Unfortunately, so many in the Body of Christ have set their minds wholly on
what they can get on earth rather on what the Lord has in store for them in
eternity. All they labour for is for the perishable things of the earth. Thus
their messages are filled with ‘earth’. This is the times we must be alert and
walk in spiritual discernment at all times in order to stand against strange
teachings, designed by the kingdom of darkness to lead the Elect (if possible)
into slavery. One such dangerous teaching is that anyone who is born again is
immune to sin! They teach that as Christ Ambassadors, they are immune to sin
and its consequences. Of course such congregations are plagued with all manner
of debauchery. Friend that is certainly not the Church the Lord is coming back
for. Christ did not die for mankind to continue in sin but to turn every man
that believes in Him from EVERY act of disobedience. Being born again is not
the end of the matter but the beginning of a journey. You can be born again and
still live in sin unrestrained. Such a life cannot please God neither will such
reign with Him. This is not judgement but the truth of God’s word. No matter how
much we try to rationalize His word, it remains true and right forever! John 1:12
says “But to all who did receive Him, He
gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name…”
To buttress the fact that the journey does not end there, Jesus Christ said in
John 8:30-32 “As He was saying these
things, many believed in Him. So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘If
you continue in My word, you really
are my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.’”
The operative word here is ‘continue’.
As you continue, you will have an ever increasing knowledge of the Truth that
is ABLE to set you free from the wiles of the world and its spiritual prisons! The
experience of this new life is not a one off thing or a fad but a continual
life changing experience. The reason why so many that claim to be born again
are still in bondage to one sin or the other is because they are not continuing in the word they have heard
and learned because if they do, the Word Himself will instruct them for
salvation in all areas of their lives: “But
as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing
those from whom you learned and that from childhood you have known the sacred
Scriptures which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ
Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:14-15. Thus one cannot continue once in awhile in old
habits and still claim to be a new man in Christ. You may declare that no one
can attain this level of perfection! Not so my friend, yes the Lord will
forgive us when we repent after an ignorant fall, but the Bible clearly tells us
in Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and make no plans to
satisfy the fleshly desires.” It is very saddening when children of God wilfully fall into sin and believe they can get away with it because they are
seated in Heaven in Christ. Friend, Christ is not seated with filth or sin.
However, at the foot of the Cross, all sins are washed away. It is not for us
to go pick them up again and think the Lord will look the other way as you
would do to a recalcitrant child hoping that one day, the child will outgrow
the foolishness! Spiritual matters are not so. God is not flesh or man and we
must reverence Him as God! He loves us (that cannot be disputed) but He does
not condone sin. Therefore, to live a life of true freedom, we must
continue in what we have learned and are learning from His word. Then He will
instruct us in all that we do; after all those that are led by the Spirit of
God are indeed the sons of God! The grace to remain and continue in Him is
released unto you in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.
Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences. As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard. The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through. Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...
