Lets Ponder On This: How harmless is that ‘fib’?

When I read certain testimonies they challenge me to do better in my walk and work with the Lord. One such testimony is the one given by Christ Himself about Nathanael one of His disciples: “Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, ‘see! Here is an Israelite indeed [a true descendant of Jacob], in whom there is no guile nor deceit nor falsehood nor duplicity!’” John 1:47 (AMP). What a great testimony! This goes to show that God knows each of us, His testimony of us is always the truth and no one can pretend before Him. It then follows that we must walk before Him in truth no matter where we find ourselves. There is no ‘off time’ with God. Our walk is meant to be with integrity at all times. With this in mind, one wonders why we get comfortable in saying things that are not true and go on as if nothing has occurred. The world calls it diplomacy, white lies and fibs. No matter how they are colored, they are LIES! These are statements that the world calls insignificant or harmless but are actually little foxes that destroy the field of lives. The Bible clearly states in Revelation 21: 8c (AMP) “…and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)—[all of these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death”.  According to verse 27 of the same chapter, those that practice falsehood (liars) will not enter the Sanctuary of the Lord. This call for caution as we live in times that do not see anything wrong with a ‘little fib’ or a harmless or insignificant white lie. The truth is ‘lie’ is ‘lie’ and it is not the language or the nature of God.

God never categorized lies no matter how well intentioned. It is a terrible and successful gimmick of darkness to lure many out of the Presence of God. Jesus Christ reiterated this in John 8 when addressing the people that didn’t believe Him and thought He may have been lying. He declared: “You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false” John 8:44 (AMP). Therefore, any form of lie whether it is harmful, harmless or insignificant is not of God but an exhibition of the nature and character of the devil. This nature disqualifies one from the Sanctuary of God. When the woman in the Garden added a ‘fib’ to the instructions of God she opened a door for the manipulations of darkness that culminated in them been expelled from the presence of God. Are you in the habit of telling ‘white lies’, ‘fibs’ and being ‘diplomatic’ in your dealings? Stop it as it has been secretly pushing you out of the race you have been running. There are guidelines and rules to running this race. It is a sad thing, when an athlete gets to the finished line only to be told that he/she is disqualified because he/she did not follow the rules and guidelines for the race.  Friend, it is not about how long you have been walking or working with the Lord, but about if integrity (righteousness) is evidenced in the things you say or do. As you ponder on this, may the truth of God’s word guard your heart and steps daily in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

Daily Walk With The LORD

As we await the imminent return of the LORD Jesus Christ, we enter a time of great exposure and blessing. All that had been hidden will be revealed, all that had been a lie will be exposed, and those who can discern these things and make adjustments to their lives will be greatly blessed in this time!        As the Church Age draws to a close, we see and understand the Scriptures more clearly by the Help of the Holy Spirit, as we see Scriptures literary play out before our eyes. These are the times we must strengthen our resolve to serve Him more dearly and follow Him more closely. Failure to do this is to fall into all manner of errors orchestrated by the devil through his agents to derail as many from the path of righteousness and eternal life in Christ Jesus.         Many strange but carefully crafted teachings are flooding the pulpits and airwaves to distract, confuse and steal the hearts of children of God from...

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...
