Living our lives by faith

We live in a world that celebrates what is seen and pays little attention to what is not. The end result is that people live superficial lives and pay little attention to that which is unseen. As a child of God, we have been called to live a life of faith: a belief in Someone we cannot see but we are convinced is there. Science says it is a crazy idea! But the truth is man is a faith being, he needs to believe in something greater than himself to live or excel. This is the point where great characters are formed. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:35-39 not to lose our confidence in God despite the happenings around us that may make us doubt the existence of God and the authenticity of our faith. Despite the strong pull of the world on our minds seeking to corrupt our walk with God, the Bible encourages us to remember that: “For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:36). This is to prepare us for the fact that certain things will be thrown our way by the world, which would be allowed by God, in order for us to learn and walk in the will of God. This walk requires ‘endurance’; this is to mean that it would not be all palatable. But, then we have His promise: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:2). Thus, for us to keep moving forward in our growth in God, it is very important that we trust God's wisdom and sovereignty over all things.
This is the plan of God from the very beginning and He has a definite goal for each of us, thus, His workings are not random in our lives: “I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand and I will do all My pleasure” (Isaiah 46: 9b-10). For this singular reason, He commands us to hold on no matter what we are going through because He is coming and He is never late: “For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My Soul has no pleasure in him” (Hebrews 10:37-38). Living by faith is not just a statement but a command and the bedrock of our new life in Christ Jesus. This life require of us to be focused and disciplined. That was why He led the children of Israel through a longer route in the wilderness to make them understand that the existence of man is not for bread alone but man must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Friend, a life of faith is actually a life that lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God no matter how heavily the circumstances may weigh on such a person. The joy of this life is that Jesus Christ has promised to be with us and see us through the whole journey when He promised that He is with us to the very end of the age. The coming of the Lord is at hand, the days of living to please ourselves have gone, it is time to live the lives we have been called to live so that when He comes He will not have a problem recognizing us. God bless you.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

Daily Walk With The LORD

As we await the imminent return of the LORD Jesus Christ, we enter a time of great exposure and blessing. All that had been hidden will be revealed, all that had been a lie will be exposed, and those who can discern these things and make adjustments to their lives will be greatly blessed in this time!        As the Church Age draws to a close, we see and understand the Scriptures more clearly by the Help of the Holy Spirit, as we see Scriptures literary play out before our eyes. These are the times we must strengthen our resolve to serve Him more dearly and follow Him more closely. Failure to do this is to fall into all manner of errors orchestrated by the devil through his agents to derail as many from the path of righteousness and eternal life in Christ Jesus.         Many strange but carefully crafted teachings are flooding the pulpits and airwaves to distract, confuse and steal the hearts of children of God from...

...And His Name Was Nabal

We live in a world that has short-term memory. The memory life span of many is so short, that mistakes and circumstances that brought them sorrow are repeated without a thought to the fact that what they are doing they had done before with dire consequences. As a result of this attitude, many have grown more wilful towards the things of God. One of the signs of the end time, according to 2 Timothy 3, is people being ungrateful. Being ungrateful means not showing gratitude for help, gifts or kindness they received; a feeling of entitlement to whatever they think they have received.         Being ungrateful is a state of mind that believes that the good things that happen to them is deserving, and they do not see any reason to be thankful for them. So was the case of a man named Nabal (which means 'Fool') in the Bible. He was a harsh and evil man in his dealings, yet a very wealthy man in the region he lived in. From the account of his l...
