Don’t Be Deceived

Watching some of the futuristic movies one can conclude that the writers and producers of these movies do not see a good future for mankind because if one machine is not destroying the human race, then one virus is decimating the population. All these mixed messages fuels fears of the unknown, especially about death and immortality; and causing people to buy into ideas that are unimaginable to start with. These mixed and messed up messages form the basis of unrealistic ideas which makes some make up unfounded theories and claims about God and the people of God. It’s as if the whole world has truly gone mad! Unfortunately, these experiences are making some Believers of Christ to question their faith and even look for ways (in their imagination) to better serve God outside His word. All these happenings are orchestrated by the enemy to deceive as many as he can from the True Faith which is in Christ Jesus. For this reason, God’s warning rings out and alerts us to this evil plot of this end time: “Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient” (Ephesians 5:6).
The world as we once know it is winding up. God’s word that was received by faith is now being re-examined and reinterpreted. Thus creating room for people to care less about things they ought to be careful about. In other words, so many are unable to see the danger in the philosophies and principles that subtly negate God’s word. Same scenario happened in the Garden in Genesis chapter 3. The Bible tells us that God had given an instruction to the man (male and female) not to eat from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil because it will cost them their lives. In disobedience, they went ahead to eat and their testimony was, their eyes were opened; then they realized they were naked (Genesis 3:1-7). One may argue that God said they would die but they didn’t. The reality is that their supernatural sense to discern between good and evil died the instant they bought into the serpent’s argument. They were deceived! Friends when we willfully go against God’s word our spiritual eyes become blind to the things that will hurt us; though in our minds we may think we are wise and will get away with what we had done, but in reality we have become foolish and blind just like the man and the woman in the Garden.
As the Day draws nearer, we must be alert in our minds to differentiate between the godly and evil. To adequately prepare us for this, God gave us a pointer to those that are carrying the gene of the deceiver in the Garden: “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:15-16). Thus, Christ went on to tell us: “…Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in My name, saying ‘I am He’, and they will deceive many” (Mark 13:5b-6). Meaning, they will falsely bear the name of the Lord (Pastors, Reverend, Priests, Prophets, Bishops, Evangelists, Apostles and Teachers) and make stupendous claims about themselves (abilities to heal and the likes) and many will flock to them. Friends, fruits are glaring for all to see but because of not knowing God for themselves, many despite these very glaring evil fruits, will still patronize and listen to them! No wonder the Bible tells us: “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1John 4:1). This is not the time to pride oneself that one knows God, but a time to know Him more and more so as not to be deceived; because to not know Him or know Him adequately is not only dangerous but foolish: “No one should deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, he must become foolish so that he can become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God…” (1Corinthians 3:18-19a). May the Light of our Lord Jesus Christ flood your heart with understanding so as to be able to stand your ground in Him till the end in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.

You Are What Matters Most To Jesus Christ

"When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]" (Genesis 17:1, AMP).        A while back, I overheard a conversation between two young men; both were wondering how a person can be and remain holy in a world that daily encourages you to exhibit and enjoy every self-indulgent pleasure one desires. Of course, they knew the Scripture in Psalm 119:9-11, which describes how a young man can keep his way pure, but they feel it is increasingly becoming difficult to discern the way of the Lord from the world system. To them, many Pastors and children of God have been won over by the kingdom of darkness to subvert the principles of God as written in the Bible.           They were not wrong, in light of some of the teaching coming from the pulpits! The above ...

Finding True Love

From the beginning of time, God Almighty has sought various means of communicating His thoughts and desires to humanity. Through the very things He has created around us, He clearly reveals His divine nature and our predestined purposes as the object of His love to those who care enough to pay attention.  His goal has always been to set men free from all that limits them from experiencing an abundant life. There is no doubt that the present life as we know it, with all its hurts, pains and heartbreak was never meant to be this way; indeed the enemy has done this.         Friends, if He created the earth with hidden and precious treasures, then how much more you? The enemy, on the other hand, has worked overtime to create things that bind, blind, limit, and ultimately stop us from fulfilling our God-given destinies. His most successful strategies are those which are subtle and appeal to our fleshly desires, just as...

The Perverted Love Of St Valentine's Day

We live in a world where those who suppress the truth have the loudest voices. They are more persuasive in their arguments because their arguments sound logical and well-reasoned. However, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not necessarily mean it is the truth. At the same time, the fact that an argument is loud and logical does not mean it is of God. So many claim they do not care where it originates from, but they agree with and have bought into its message. If that is your stance, then you need to hear this because what you believe and have bought into is a lie. Remember, ignorance is not bliss but a dangerous position to occupy as many ‘ignorants’ abound in hell!        The argument for celebrating St. Valentine's Day is loud and sounds logical but it is not the truth, nor is it of God! It is not of God because the love that Jesus Christ portrays carries within it the responsibility of self-sacrifice whilst that o...
