Our Daily Quest!

This generation has so much knowledge compared to previous generations, and so it will increase until Jesus returns. It is to be expected, especially with the rise in technological advancements. As children of God, the same can be said for us as well. There is so much knowledge in the Body of Christ now than in previous times and dispensations. This had made some within the Body claim more knowledge than someone like Apostle Paul. Some even go as far as claiming to be gods because of the amount of knowledge they have! This calls for caution.
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 1:18 NKJV, "For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow." This tells us that as we grow in knowledge, we become acutely aware of how much our ignorance costs, and this thought in itself causes us grief. This does not mean we should not chase after increasing knowledge, as children of God we are encouraged to deepen our knowledge in and of God. This we must do in Him because outside of Him will lead to pride and arrogance as we see exhibited in people that have continued to grow in knowledge without God!
To be in step with Him, Jesus said in Matthew 11:29 NKJV,  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." If our end goal in our quest for knowledge is to know Him; then it means we desire to be like Him. If that is the case, then we are encouraged to be yoked with Him! Beloved, knowledge is good but without Jesus, it only brings sorrow, dissatisfaction, and frustration! For instance, this terrible desire for knowledge has led many within the Body to have an inordinate desire to be associated with what they deem to be beneficial and will advance whatever they have seen as success.
We are taught severally and from many pulpits and platforms on the importance of associating with people who will help us get to our desired goal, which is usually wealth and or influence! This is great, after all, it is a great thing to be successful. However, in our quest to be 'this great person', there is a need to look again at what we are associated with. To be associated with people means to share a common interest(s) or purpose with the thing or people. This association is a 'yoke', a joining if you will. This yoke imposes binding relationships that carry eternal consequences. As children of God waiting for their Savior to return, it calls for caution.
To be 'yoked' as we saw in the Scripture is to be 'joined'! Matthew 11:29 (TPT), "Simply join your life with Mine. Learn My ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me." This is an invitation to 'join' our life with the LORD - for as many as desire relief and joy - through a relationship with Him. This relationship brings us to a place of a deeper level of commitment in which we learn His character as His disciples. Beloved, our walk with Jesus requires us to lean on Him (we move as He moves).
Many have this knowledge but lack the understanding that the essence of this yoke or joining with Christ is to build His Character in us. As we walk with Him daily, we die to ourselves and grow in our likeness in Character with Him. You may argue that you are 'yoked' with Jesus! Good! But, does your life as it is portray the character of Christ? It is not enough to bear His name, we must be like Him because we are actively joined to Him. This joining cannot be faked. God sees it, even satan sees it: "But the evil spirit retorted, “I know and recognize and acknowledge Jesus, and I know about Paul, but as for you, who are you” (Acts 19:15, AMP)?
If truly, you are yoked with Him, then live a life that reflects this daily. This is our daily quest: To be like Jesus! "Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude" (Colossians 2:6-7, AMP). God bless you as you ponder on these words!

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

Are You A True Disciple? Part 1

This decade opened with very dire straits for mankind, as many people around the world woke up to a world that stood still as each nation shut their borders, homes and institutions shutting their doors. If many had been told this scenario could happen a couple of decades ago, one would say it was crazily impossible. But it did happen! Many lives and livelihoods were destroyed, and many institutions and lifestyles, including the Church, were affected. As terrible as the times were and still are, it is exposing the hearts and state of many 'sons of God'!         Many wondered aloud, 'What does the devil want for causing all this havoc?' And some went further to ask, 'What does God want?' The answer to both questions is 'Man' (male and female)! It is a battle between the Kingdom of God and darkness for the soul of man. As a result, man is being prepared both by God and the devil for eternity with either!         ...

It Is Time To Raise A Cry For Nigeria!

"The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:6-8).         Listening to a brother detailing how Nigeria will be great again because it was foretold decades ago, I quieted down in my spirit to listen to him. According to him, the prophecies of old say that Nigeria will become a beacon of God's light to the rest of the world as they carry His Word to the rest of the world, especially in Africa. He enumerated the many qualities of Nigeria, especially the spiritual significance of her position within the continent of Africa. She will be used by God to trigger the last move of revival in the last days, he continued.         I listened attentively,...
