Watch Your Tongue

       A young man, who loves the LORD Jesus Christ and dutifully serves Him was frustrated one day about a particular project he was working on at his place of work. For days he couldn't find a headway in putting the assignment together. Sadly, none of his team members were of any help, as they always deferred to him when they faced similar challenges. He had always delivered in past projects with excellent results and feedback. However, on this particular one, he could not solve the issues, and no one in his team could help him.         He stood up from his chair this faithful afternoon, threw his arms up in the air and declared, "I am so frustrated, I cannot get this project done, nor can I meet the deadline of submission at this rate." Judge, Which Judge? King, Which King?

       In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus tells a parable about a persistent widow who sought justice against her adversary. She couldn't stand against the person who was fighting her. Her only recourse was to the justice system. She was confident that she would get justice, so she kept pestering the Judge until she got justice. The earthly Judge gave her justice so the woman will not wear him out because of her persistence. Jesus likened this to His elect who persistently ask the Judge of the whole earth for justice against the devil and his schemes. He declared that the Almighty God, the Judge of the whole earth will swiftly grant His elect justice. But He asked a poignant question at the end of the parable: "...However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] faith on the earth ” (Luke 18:8b, AMP).         This question is baffling in the present, in light of how the Gospel is 'spreading' around the world.
