In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus tells a parable about a persistent widow who sought justice against her adversary. She couldn't stand against the person who was fighting her. Her only recourse was to the justice system. She was confident that she would get justice, so she kept pestering the Judge until she got justice. The earthly Judge gave her justice so the woman will not wear him out because of her persistence. Jesus likened this to His elect who persistently ask the Judge of the whole earth for justice against the devil and his schemes. He declared that the Almighty God, the Judge of the whole earth will swiftly grant His elect justice. But He asked a poignant question at the end of the parable: "...However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] faith on the earth ” (Luke 18:8b, AMP).
