In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus tells a parable about a persistent widow who sought justice against her adversary. She couldn't stand against the person who was fighting her. Her only recourse was to the justice system. She was confident that she would get justice, so she kept pestering the Judge until she got justice. The earthly Judge gave her justice so the woman will not wear him out because of her persistence. Jesus likened this to His elect who persistently ask the Judge of the whole earth for justice against the devil and his schemes. He declared that the Almighty God, the Judge of the whole earth will swiftly grant His elect justice. But He asked a poignant question at the end of the parable: "...However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] faith on the earth” (Luke 18:8b, AMP).
This question is baffling in the present, in light of how the Gospel is 'spreading' around the world. One would say there are so many people of 'faith' compared to other generations or centuries. In our clime, there is at least a Church on every street. God's Word is seemingly being preached almost everywhere and on every social platform. Yet God is asking, when He returns, will He find the kind of persistent faith the widow had in petitioning an earthly Judge?
While pondering this Scripture, what came to mind was the reason Jesus asked this. Because for one to petition a judge, one must believe the judge has the capacity to give one justice over the unjust actions of an adversary. Which leads to the question, the God many claim to have faith in and serve, is He the Judge of the whole earth, is He the King and Master over their lives? Or an Unknown God? For Him to be KING, it means He has a KINGDOM. If you claim to be His, do you belong to His KINGDOM?

We understand through the Scriptures that if we claim to serve the God that created the Heavens and the earth and all that is within it, it means we belong to Him, and are members of His household, subject to His laws and principles (Ephesians 2:19). If we are members of His household, it means where He is, that is where we are: "Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory" (Colossians 3:1-4, AMP).
We cannot be part of the system of the world and the way things are done in it and claim to be part of the Kingdom of God. The devil desires for man to be a hypocrite: claiming with their lips that they belong to God, while their hearts are with him and his wares. This, he knows brings dishonour to the Word and Name of God. When a man does not totally abide by the principles of the Kingdom of God, such dishonours God. Such a person loses sight of Jesus Christ and becomes powerless against the whisperings and suggestions of the Kingdom of darkness.
One of the currencies of any kingdom to be successful, for the people to be law-abiding, hard-working and loyal is fear. This fear is what propels the citizens to obey the laws and remain loyal. Mostly, not a fear borne out of evil or reprisals, but borne out of respect and loyalty for the loving and caring king. You might argue, not all kingdoms have a loving and caring king over them. True! But we know that in THIS KINGDOM, THE KING IS LOVING AND CARING. Thus, the response of the people is a fear borne out of love, righteousness, honour and loyalty for Him.
This 'fear' is seen as a TREASURE for the citizens: "The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. And He will be the security and stability of your times, A treasure of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the Lord is your treasure" (Isaiah 33: 5-6, AMP). A man who fears the LORD is feared by the Kingdom of darkness! As we saw with Daniel, Joseph and many others. Anyone who dwells in the Kingdom of God knows and fears God, and that knowledge gives him strength to face the enemies of the Kingdom of God, which are the devil, his demons and agents! Such a person petitions the Judge of the whole earth out of faith in Him, and he gets justice!
Do you know Him, through and by experience, or have you only seen Him through others? Do you have faith that He Is and He rewards those who search for Him, His heart and His face? Does the fear of Him you claim to carry propel you to strive to live a holy and righteous life? He is the Master and LORD (Adonai) of all. Is He the Master and LORD (Adonai) of your life? Have you surrendered to Him, or are you still loving and entertaining the things of the other kingdom? The Kingdom of God has its own language, customs, expected behaviours, principles, etc. Don't be deceived, your attitude, character and way of living carry the stamp of the Kingdom you belong to; it cannot be hidden.
Beloved, the days of evil are coming and are here; except one has an experiential knowledge of the God of the Kingdom one claims to be part of, one may suffer loss by not being able to discern that which is good from evil: "With smooth words [of flattery and praise] he will turn to godlessness those who [are willing to] disregard the [Mosaic] covenant, but the people who [are spiritually mature and] know their God will display strength and take action [to resist]" (Daniel 11:32, AMP).
Beloved, as the Coming of the LORD draws ever nearer, examine yourself thoroughly. Is the light you claim to carry within you a representative of the Kingdom of God or that of the devil? Each man carries light. It is either shining illuminating light or darkness. Which one do you carry? May the LORD Grant you the grace to sincerely examine yourself, and to draw you closer to Him in your walk and service to Him, may He increase your faith so that you become persistent and dedicated to Him, in Jesus Christ name, Amen! God bless you.
