Kindness

There was a young man in the scriptures that the world may have turned several times and must have left him more confused than ever, each time it turns. When he was just five years old, the news of his father’s death reached his nurse and she picked him up and ran. In the process he fell and became crippled in his feet. This young man was born to a royal family and his father was the heir to the throne, however in one day his father and grandfather (the king) both died and the sheltered life he once knew came to an abrupt halt. This is the tragic story of Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of king Saul of Israel. We may relate to the story of this young man that lived a tragic life that he had no hand in causing. A well ordered life turned upside down by an act of defiance that cost not just the protagonist’s life but all those that had any affiliations with him. You are serving the Lord and you make every effort to follow Him diligently, but it looks like the more you tr

Suddenly! 2

Have you ever experienced a situation when you tell a man on the street that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and they make jest of you? Some go as far as practically quoting 2 Peter 3:4 (unknowingly) sarcastically asking when is He coming, after all from the time they could remember it has been said He is coming. So does so many in the Body of Christ, they mouth His coming but their actions belie the truth. So many try to prepare for the eventualities of life but very few are preparing for The Day. No matter what scientists, philosophers and star gazers say, Jesus Christ is coming back AGAIN. If I may ask, beyond the looking forward to a more fulfilling job, arrival of a new car, financial breakthroughs, fulfilling relationships, how prepared are you for His coming? In Malachi 3:1, the Word of God talks about the sudden coming of the Lord to His temple. You might say there is a delay but in 2Peter 3:15a we see that the delay is for our salvation so that no man would have an excuse a

Suddenly…!

All that God had promised you will come to pass if He does tarry and you don’t waiver in your faith in Him. It is unfortunate that many of God’s children are not ready for the kind of breakthroughs they are praying for; friend that which you are praying for shall come suddenly, but are you ready? The Bible says in Malachi 3:1-2 “See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire – see, He is coming, says the Lord of Hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will be able to stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire and like cleansing lye.” There are two points we will look at in the above Scripture: the first is ‘the Lord you seek will suddenly come…’ and the second one is ‘but who can endure the day of His coming…and who will be able to stand when He appears?’ the question that will readily come to mind as we read this is: is it po

Don’t Let Delays Defeat You - J. Lee Grady

A breakthrough is waiting for those who persevere. If you have stopped praying, receive fresh grace to pray again. George Mueller, the great 19th-century British evangelist, prayed in more than $7 million during his lifetime to feed the thousands of orphans in his care. He didn't believe in telling people about his financial needs, yet he always had enough to pay his enormous grocery bill because God supernaturally provided. But Mueller’s faith was stretched in other ways. He prayed regularly over a list of five people he wanted to see converted to faith in Jesus. The first man was saved after five years. The second and third men converted to Christ after 10 years. The fourth man was saved after 25 years of consistent prayer. But here’s the clincher: Mueller prayed for the fifth man’s conversion for a whopping 52 years. The friend made a profession of faith in Christ a few months after Mueller’s funeral! This story challenges me to the core because I’m so impatient. I’m guilty

Be One Of God’s Witnesses

A praise song goes thus: “My eyes have seen, my ears have heard, my mouth will talk about the goodness of God…” but it is sad to know that a lot of us have indeed seen, known and experienced the goodness of Jesus Christ and still find it difficult to talk about Him. God said in Isaiah 43:10 (AMP) – “You are My witnesses …and My servants whom I have chosen, that you may know Me, believe Me and remain steadfast to Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.” Also in Acts 1:8 (AMP) “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” We are chosen and endowed with the Holy Spirit not just to acquire things or be in a state of well-being but to be His WITNESSES! This is the intention of God from the very beginning. To be a witness means to see, hear and accurately give

This Is What You Are Called To Do

John 6:28-29 (AMP) “They then said, what are we to do, that we may (habitually) be working the works of God? (What are we to do to carry out what God requires?) Jesus replied, this is the work (service) that God asks of you that you believe in the one whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on and have faith in His Messenger].” This is the first work or service that God has called us to do. If we as individuals do not personally (totally) have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, then it will be difficult to handle the duties we are called to do. The question we are to ask ourselves is: are we in the service of God as recorded in verse 29? This is the primary work of every believer, when God finds us faithful in handling this duty, He can then entrust greater duties and responsibilities to us. God is calling us all into a work of rebuilding the Church of God of which you and I are members. Take a look around you, despite the advancement in technology, the air is thick with despo
