Suddenly…!

All that God had promised you will come to pass if He does tarry and you don’t waiver in your faith in Him. It is unfortunate that many of God’s children are not ready for the kind of breakthroughs they are praying for; friend that which you are praying for shall come suddenly, but are you ready? The Bible says in Malachi 3:1-2 “See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire – see, He is coming, says the Lord of Hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will be able to stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire and like cleansing lye.” There are two points we will look at in the above Scripture: the first is ‘the Lord you seek will suddenly come…’ and the second one is ‘but who can endure the day of His coming…and who will be able to stand when He appears?’ the question that will readily come to mind as we read this is: is it possible for a man to be seeking something and at the same time not be ready for that which he is seeking? It is very possible! So many times we have held God responsible for our irresponsibility. How can you be praying for something and not make adequate preparations for its arrival? No wonder so many break-off, break-out or break-down when their breakthroughs come because they were not ready!
You don’t operate in a new level with an old level mentality! God expects us to continuously develop in our faith, patience, expectations etc.  Do you know that when you don’t develop in these areas, when the answers to your prayers come you will fight it? It is dangerous to live and walk with God without expectation. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:18 “…thine expectation will not be cut off.” If your expectations will not be cut off then you must develop your faith. Why, because there is going to be a sudden appearing of the blessings. I have noticed that any time God would respond to the hunger of His people He comes suddenly! Friend, we have been called into a life of faith. Faith is simply an unwavering belief with expectation. It is not faith when it is without expectation. To a man who lives without expectation, God can’t really do much in such a life. In Acts 12:5-15, the Church was praying for the release of Peter, but was not expectant.  Suddenly, the answer to their prayers came and they doubted it. The same people that were praying heard of the answer to their prayers and they doubted – “and they said unto her, thou art mad…” What an answer! So many times brethren come together praying and trusting the Lord concerning an issue and when the answer comes they are the same ones that stand to fight it. May you not be an enemy to the answer to the prayers you had prayed. Our God is a God that will exceed all of our expectations because He can do immeasurably more than we can think or imagine. This is the more reason why we must grow in our walk with the Lord. Praying without expectation is like embarking on a journey without a destination in mind. As we walk with God we must allow Him to work in us such that our hearts are developed to knowing that the God we serve can do anything suddenly. It is time to trust God for increase in our faith in Him. For us not to doubt the answers to our prayers, we must live and walk with expectation. There is about to be ‘sudden’ happenings of miracles in our lives in Jesus Christ name; believe it! God bless you.
