The mindless killings and kidnappings around
the globe especially in our clime at this time have increased to an
unprecedented sad level. The questions that are being asked in a lot of hearts
and fora are: why is this happening, where is the face and love of God, how
could He allow this to happen and many more of such. This had affected the walk
of so many with God and made many more resolve not to follow God; equally, some
have resolved to draw closer to God in the light of these strange and worrisome
events. The truth is, the world is filled with darkness that is affecting the
thoughts, actions and life in general of the people. The world believes that
the best solution to this darkness is to create more darkness by taking God out
of the lives of people. As long as the Creator is taken away from His creation,
darkness will reign. In Genesis 1:3, the Bible says darkness was on the earth
and the face of the deep until God spoke light into it. And we know that where
there is darkness nothing thrives. In the gospel of John 1:4, we were told that
God is Life and the Life is the light of men. It then follows that if God is
taken out of the equation of creation, darkness reigns! The creation was not
designed to exist without its Creator. Taking the Creator out is a recipe for a
great disaster as we are witnessing globally. The world has consistently,
especially in developed economies, tried to take God away from their lives, is
there any wonder then the rise in mindless murders and kidnappings and macabre behaviour by the inhabitants of the world? It is not about legislating stricter and more
stringent laws but it is about each individual doing a rethink and returning
back to God his Creator. The light of this world is not in man’s intelligence
or prowess but in God Himself. If this is not done, then the world and the
people will remain bewildered and confused about the growing darkness. The
Bible tells us in Revelations 1:1-3 “The
revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave Him to show His slaves what must
quickly take place. He sent it and signified it through His angel to His slave John,
who testified to God’s word and to the testimony about Jesus Christ in all he
saw. Blessed is the one who reads and blessed are those who hear the words of
this prophecy and keep what is written in it, because the time is near.”
God Himself gave the revelation of His Son to His Son to show to His followers
and disciples. Everything we need for a life in the light devoid of darkness
can only be found in the revelation of Jesus Christ. The world has tried and
still tries to circumvent this and as a result, it is plummeting fast into an
abyss of darkness and moral decadence. The 3rd verse declares any
man that reads and hears the word of this prophecy is blessed. If truly you
cannot seem to understand or make sense of the happenings around you, it is not
to blame God or look for ways outside of Him to remedy the situation. You may
get temporary relief, but on the long run such situations will degenerate and become
worse than the first instance. Friend, there is no other way and the answers cannot
be found in legislative chambers, bank vaults or the halls of human reasoning
and logic, but the answers can only be found in God Himself. The revelation is
in Him and it carries His instruction for you on what to do and how to walk. It
is time to truly seek His face as to what to do in order to roll back this
darkness. God bless you.
Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences. As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard. The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through. Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...
