The Quest

If you have carefully observed, the human being had been fashioned by God to seek ‘something’ that is greater than him/herself. The quest for this has led so many into dangerous paths, desires and passions that have led and are leading so many astray. This is not new as this quest is as old as creation. The Pharisees at one time asked the Lord Jesus Christ when the Kingdom of God will come. This question is loaded with many assumptions: One could deduce that the Pharisees desired to see this Kingdom being preached about by Christ and a desire to know and recognize it because they believe it is their inheritance. Unfortunately, I bet they were disappointed with the reply Jesus Christ gave them, like so many do today, they will expect a supernatural shaking or phenomenon that will herald this Kingdom and at the same time distinguish it from others. However, Jesus Christ replied: “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. You won’t be able to say ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you (Luke 17: 20b-21, NLT). Some versions say: because the Kingdom of God is within you.” This simply means, every born again child of God carries the Kingdom within him/her. No wonder Jesus told Nicodemus that except he is born again, born of water and the Spirit, such cannot see nor enter the Kingdom. That was the only condition given to us to be partakers of the Kingdom of God.
Friend, you have searched high and low for that seemingly elusive “joy and satisfaction”, as a result you embarked on relationships and lifestyles that you know in your heart are not doing you any good. Don’t fret! Jesus Christ is knocking on the door of your heart to give you rest and a way out of this ‘quest’. Your part in this is to allow Him in, believe and accept Him. All that you are on a quest for according to His will is in Him. The Bible tells us that all things, visible and invincible were created by and for Him (Colossians 1:16b). He has promised you a life of abundance if only you will come to Him: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b). I am not saying all your problems will disappear all at once, but He is promising to show you how and instruct you in the way you should go. The Kingdom is indeed within you if only you will release your heart to Him; you will discover that all you need to live a good and satisfying life is all yours for the asking. He promised us that if we ask for even the nations He will give them to us. Nothing is too big for Him to give to you after all He gave His Son to die for the world! Please bow your heart and ask Him in and you will be pleasantly surprised. God bless you.
