Keep the Faith!

We live in a world that expresses deep disregard and disdain for the things of God: Things pertaining to the Spirit and our faith, simply because they are not visible even though they are real and discernible. Towards the end of Paul’s ministry he declared by the Holy Spirit “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith 2Timothy 4:7. It’s no more news that the Christian life is not a bed of roses but a fight, a fight to finish, a faith that must remain till the end; a race we must run with perseverance not against one another, but against the competing and conflicting ideas of this world subtly engineered by the evil one. The enemy of our soul is in an all out war to steal, kill and destroy our faith through various means, and one of it is through mockery. He laughs at our humility, our obedience to the Holy Spirit, our distaste for sin and our passion for the Kingdom of God. This spirit of the world could be seen in action in the Bible, from the time Isaac was born (Genesis 21:9-10), in the time of Nehemiah in the re-building of the wall of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 4:1-6 ) and up till the time of Christ’s death on the cross (Matthew 27:29-31 ). Sadly, it’s still very much present in our days, laughing and mocking faithful individuals who put their faith and hope in Christ Jesus. The devil’s intention is to make a person become dissatisfied with God, weary, lose heart and possibly give up on the promises and even the coming of the Lord. This spirit asks us at every opportunity it gets: where are the fruits of your faith – your walk and service to Jesus? Where are the breakthroughs? Sometimes it has the audacity to ask, where is the promise of His coming? (2 Peter 3:3-4).
Have you been faced by such questioning or reasoning of the devil? Then cheer up and relax, you are in good company – God’s company! Our God, the Lord of Host is strong and mighty, able to bring to pass every word He has spoken about you and His coming with or without human effort. Whenever the enemy mocks at us, the one seated in Heaven laughs (Psalm 2:4), because He knows their time is coming (Psalm 37:13). However, His greatest joy and His goal is the transformation His word is able to accomplish in our lives during the waiting period as we allow Him. Friend, we must draw strength and encouragement once again from Jesus and the testimonies of the lives of the elders in scriptures who also had to endure similar situations, yet with faith and patience they inherited the promises. But better than the physical miracles they obtained is Heavens testimony over their lives. Hebrews 11:2 declares: “For by it (Faith) the elders obtained a good report. Friends Nothing in this world can be compared to the applause of Heaven for those who keep the faith against all odds. If you have believed in the Lord and are committed to your walk with Him, then know for certain that just as the mocking of the Jews during Jesus Christ’s crucifixion was unable to stop His resurrection, so also any devil, man-made thing or idea stop God from coming through for you. Breakthrough is coming, fulfillment of promises is coming and the Lord Himself is coming. Our part in all of this is as He faithfully works behind the scene of our lives, we must purpose in our hearts to cling to Him in a consistent walk (Daniel 1:8, Acts 11:23). The grace to keep the faith till the end is released to you in Jesus Christ name. God bless you.
