Reposition Your Mind

When Queen Vashti was deposed because of her pride and succeeded by Queen Esther little did anyone at that time, including the king know that this repositioning was for the sake of a coming warfare. We are equally in a time of great warfare, both physically and spiritually and there is a repositioning taking place spiritually. Just as it was in the time of Esther, the eternal destinies of many are presently being determined. Being a participant in this warfare is really not an option because the devil knows that his time is short (Revelation 12:12). This is the time true disciples will be tested and tried: Those that overcome are the ones, despite all that is thrown at them to entice them from the path or persecute them for their faith remained standing in their faith and hope in the soon coming King – Jesus Christ. These true disciples have chosen the side of the Lord, taken up weapons and stood their ground in the midst of the ongoing battle for their minds.  Friend, are you one of them? This is the eternal question that will determine the eternal destinies of every person. It is not a time to procrastinate; you must decide whose side you want to be on. Please note that there are only two sides in this battle: Christ or the deceiver – there is no middle ground! Our confidence is in the fact that the Captain of the Lord’s Army, Jesus Christ, fought this same battle and won it; He gave us the victory and left behind an example for us to follow so that we can enforce that which He has won until He returns (Philippians 2:5-11; 1Peter 3:18-22).
One major weapon He laid down for us to use, which I believe is mostly neglected by His children, and attacked by the enemy, is “the mind of Christ”. No soldier in His Army seeking victory in such dark times can survive without the mind of Christ. This is one weapon that makes demons, principalities, powers to tremble; it sets confusion into the camps of the enemy. This mind carries within it humility, strength, power, wisdom, obedience, fear of the Lord, peace and grace (Philippians 2:5-11). Scriptures plainly declare who can and has understood the mind of God, but we have the mind of Christ (1Corithians 2:16). As children of God, we must have this mind in order to enforce all that Christ fought for and won on our behalf. 1 Peter 4:1 instructs us to “arm ourselves” with this mind so that we can be properly positioned to battle aright. This instruction is very important since the battle ground is our minds, a corrupted and worldly mind cannot win; thus, we must give up our minds and pick up His own. This call is non-negotiable if indeed we desire to overcome and inherit all that has been kept aside for us (Revelation 21:7). If we desire to see our circumstances, families, friends and even our nations change by the power of God, then we must wholeheartedly obey this call. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “if my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and heal their land”. Friend it is time to reposition our minds. The grace to obey is released to you in Jesus name.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...

...And His Name Was Nabal

We live in a world that has short-term memory. The memory life span of many is so short, that mistakes and circumstances that brought them sorrow are repeated without a thought to the fact that what they are doing they had done before with dire consequences. As a result of this attitude, many have grown more wilful towards the things of God. One of the signs of the end time, according to 2 Timothy 3, is people being ungrateful. Being ungrateful means not showing gratitude for help, gifts or kindness they received; a feeling of entitlement to whatever they think they have received.         Being ungrateful is a state of mind that believes that the good things that happen to them is deserving, and they do not see any reason to be thankful for them. So was the case of a man named Nabal (which means 'Fool') in the Bible. He was a harsh and evil man in his dealings, yet a very wealthy man in the region he lived in. From the account of his l...
