A Return To The Trenches

If there was ever a time the Church of Christ should be stronger it is in these times because of the several policies and laws that are being churned out that clearly negates the principles of God. The question that readily comes to mind is why would God allow these laws to be passed in the first place? To be able to get the answer, we need to return to the Scriptures. Throughout Scriptures and history, when there’s a period of ease, children of God tend to forget Him and go make idols for themselves to affirm the way they have chosen to live which is contrary to God’s way. Thus, God uses the whips and lashes of the world system to wake His Body from the sleep of death. Currently, the Church in the developed world had fallen into a deep sleep of apostasy – the biblical tenets that keep the Body connected to the Lord had been abandoned for the pursuit of fame, wealth and fleshy ambitions. The Church as a result of this has become proficient in finding excuses for sin through doctrinal manipulations, acquiring useless articles that are of no eternal value and building grandiose empires that fosters the fires of competition and greed amongst the Body. Unfortunately, this ‘disease’ is spreading to the developing and underdeveloped world. It is believed in these places now, that the fastest way to making wealth is to become the ‘man of the cloth’. It is not strange to hear someone that is out of work for a long time or unable to get a job to suddenly hear ‘the voice’ of God to go work for Him.  Pray tell, what exactly is the work of God? The people in the days of Jesus Christ on earth asked what they can do to do God’s work. The answer of Christ is not what we attribute to the question these days. He told them: “…This is the work of God; that you believe in the One He has sent” (John 6:29). If we truly believe the reply of Christ as to the definition of the work of God, then there should not be greed, competition, selfishness and inordinate ambitions in the service of God.
When God’s children are busy fighting amongst themselves of who is greater, they leave their place of assignment and allow the enemy and his agents’ free reign across the lands! Friend, God expects us to work so that we do not give room to the enemy; this will certainly, as it has presently done, jeopardize and corrupt the Truth of God’s word! The present Church is now seen as a way to get quick wealth; strong and able bodied young men and women have latched on to them in the guise of ‘being called’. A lot are going to be in for a surprise on that DAY when they find out that their calling was not from God but from their bellies. The Church unfortunately is encouraging this, thus most are producing pretenders with the mindset of entitlement. These have succeeded in taking the Scriptures to terrible depths of depravity as we are presently seeing.
After the terrible judgment in America, witnessed by the world sometime ago about same sex marriage, a ‘Minister of God’ arose to declare that it was a great judgment as it proved that God loves everyone and is accommodating. This unfortunate and laughable excuse from a ‘serving minister’ makes one wonder what Bible he is reading. The Bible clearly states: “Those whose lives are in the flesh are unable to please God” (Romans 8:8); and so as not to confuse the love of God for weakness or a condoning of sin, we were told: “Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will (ever) see the Lord (Hebrews 8:14 – AMP). When someone is clearly misguided by the devil to think his/her state is normal, we are not to accommodate such idea but to shine the light of God’s word in love in order for the person’s eyes to be opened: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe according to the working of His vast strength” (Ephesians 1:18-19). Friend, it is the failing of the Church that gave room for this evil judgment; we must return to the trenches in prayers, meditation and selfless acts of service in order to stem the flood. It is sad to note that if we refuse to do this, the enemy will take it as a sign of weakness on our part, which will embolden him and his agents to push for far more disastrous ‘reforms’ to God’s principles. It will not be his fault but ours for not standing. We must return back to the trenches to take back our family values, schools, jobs and our communities from these false teachers and prophets whose ambition is their stomachs: “…and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. In their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation pronounced long ago is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep” (2Peter 2:2b-3). It is time to awaken and get on our knees, for the time to stand in Christ Jesus is NOW! God bless you.
