He Knows And Will Surely Come Through For You

I listened to a young woman’s testimony some years back and a particular statement she kept making struck me. It was not so much as the statement itself but the manner in which she said it. The statement and all it entails remained with me ever since and had helped me to look at a lot of happenings in my life in better perspective. She kept puncturing her narrative with the statement: ‘the devil was trying to kill me’. Now, if you don’t believe in God you may feel she is melodramatic or looking for excuses for her terrible lifestyle. Friend, whether you believe in God or not, the reality is that the ‘the devil is truly trying to kill you’! Just look around you; the kings and rulers of the world are enacting laws and policies that negate the fundamental existence of man and it seems there’s no stopping of this raging madness. This maddening tendencies is sweeping unrestrained across the lands; thus, putting our way of life and future in jeopardy. Anyway, this is not new; the enemy (the enemy of our soul – the devil) throughout history had always tried to rewrite the destinies of people and we see the Lord come through to stop him. Friend, you may be going through some stuff right now in your life and it looks like Heaven is silent and leaving you to your fate. That is not so! The Lord Jesus Christ is working your deliverance behind the scene if you believe and trust Him; He will surely come through for you. I am assured of this because He had never failed and He will not be starting now!
Habakkuk, one of the Prophets in the Bible was in a similar dilemma as he wondered why God is not rescuing His people from the hands of the raiding armies of the Chaldean. This army was sweeping across the lands uprooting, planting and disrupting destinies of people and nations unchecked. In chapter one of Habakkuk, we learnt that it was God that actually raised the enemy and allowed them to carry out their unfair judgments on the people of the nations: “Look! I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter, impetuous nation that marches across the earth’s open spaces to seize territories not its own. They are fierce and terrifying; their views of justices and sovereignty stem from themselves” (Habakkuk 1:6-7). The beauty about our God is that in His judgment, there is mercy. He had put a timeline to the raids and had equally made a way of escape for His people once they turn to Him: “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and will not be late” (Habakkuk 2:3). In other words, what you are going through as a child of God, He allowed for training you. Once you learn what He is teaching you, He will show you the way out. You might scream this is unfair and not right. If so, then you are not a legitimate child because all legitimate children are disciplined by their fathers for their own good. If left to their own devices, they will hurt themselves: “No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:11). No matter what the enemy is allowed to throw at us, we must stand our ground with the clear assurance that God will bring us out of the situation. Habakkuk understood this, and so stood watch at his guard post to get the instruction of God. So many have left their duty posts where instructions would have come to them, thus, going from one pain to the other without respite in sight. These are going through the motions of being a child of God without carrying the power of His Presence! Friend, don’t be in haste there by falling into the traps of darkness. Remain in the stronghold (Jesus Christ), He will give you the strength to remain standing; and when the victory comes (it will surely come), it will be TOTAL victory to the glory of God! God bless you.

The Quarry Site Experience

Have you ever visited a quarry site and considered the process the rocks are subjected to before they become dressed stones to be used? If the stones could talk they will have a story to tell about their experiences.  As children of God we go through diverse experiences and we wonder if we will indeed survive them. Sometimes we wonder why our gracious and compassionate Father would allow such to befall us considering who we are in Him and what we are doing in His vineyard.  The Scripture that should readily come to our minds in such circumstances is God’s assurance when He said: “I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you ” (Isaiah 43:2). This Scripture assures us that through the experiences of flames and waters, God is always by our side to see us through.  Thus, it is necessary for us to go through the...

But You Did Not Learn Christ In This Way

I remember meeting a man of God in his office after the Sunday Services in his Church. I, like many others that day needed a few minutes with him. I was there at the instruction of the LORD to deliver a message. As we were talking, one of his Church workers came in and gave him a note. His face lit up, and he was very excited. I saw that there were sets of numbers written. I thought the numbers represented those who gave their lives to Christ, because many came out during the Altar Call to give and rededicate their lives to the LORD Jesus Christ. No! Apparently, they represent the number of people in attendance at each of the three services with the corresponding money collections realised.         They were not concerned about the souls that came out hungry for God! I was saddened by their excitement. They were not excited about the souls that came into the Kingdom of God; rather, they were rejoicing about their egos, ranks and bank a...

...And His Name Was Nabal

We live in a world that has short-term memory. The memory life span of many is so short, that mistakes and circumstances that brought them sorrow are repeated without a thought to the fact that what they are doing they had done before with dire consequences. As a result of this attitude, many have grown more wilful towards the things of God. One of the signs of the end time, according to 2 Timothy 3, is people being ungrateful. Being ungrateful means not showing gratitude for help, gifts or kindness they received; a feeling of entitlement to whatever they think they have received.         Being ungrateful is a state of mind that believes that the good things that happen to them is deserving, and they do not see any reason to be thankful for them. So was the case of a man named Nabal (which means 'Fool') in the Bible. He was a harsh and evil man in his dealings, yet a very wealthy man in the region he lived in. From the account of his l...
