Sometimes
God shows you what He has in store for you in the very near future and when it
seems not to come to pass at the time expected, there is the tendency to
despair. Whilst it is true that we must be expectant and thanking Him in
advance for the provision, we on our part must relinquish our right to hurry
Him or help Him to plan our destinies. If you remember, the children of Israel
were meant to be in Egypt’s captivity for 400years but when the years were up,
God did not bring them out! For those that were counting the years amongst them
may have despaired and thought God had forgotten about them. But that was not
the case. God added thirty more years to the initial years because the set man
was not ready. In another instance, one would have expected the Israelites
because of the population and possessions, to cross the Red sea in more than a
day but they crossed the sea in one night! God by His mighty hand and power did
the impossible as if it were nothing. Friend, that wilderness you are faced
with, God is able to bring you out in a twinkle of an eye. Don’t be deceived
and carried away by the ‘fast food’ concept of God. Everything about God is
timed with no margin of error. When the fullness of time earmarked by God for
you comes, nothing can stop your deliverance. Unfortunately, so many teachings are
based on the ‘now’ of God, such that when people don’t see their miracles they
automatically believe they have done or are doing something wrong. Friend, the
life of a child of God is one of waiting: “The
one who keeps a command will not experience anything harmful, and a wise heart
knows the right time and procedure. For every activity there is a right time
and procedure, even though man’s troubles are heavy on him” (Ecclesiastes
8:5-6).
When your time comes, God will not delay to bring His word to pass no
matter the decrees or policies in place. In the world system it is unheard of
for a virgin to be pregnant, but when the time came, Mary was found to be with
child! According to science, a 90 year old woman cannot be pregnant, God broke
the laws and Sarah had a child. A decree that cannot be changed was passed for
the annihilation of all Jews, but when the fullness of time came, no policy or
decree stopped the Almighty from turning the tables against the enemies of His
children: “When the Lord restored the
fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream” (Psalm 126:1). Therefore,
we will do well to relinquish our right to hurry God along or help Him to
change His plan for our destiny so as not to make a shipwreck of our lives; but
to rest in Him completely, knowing and fully convinced that what He had said
concerning you will surely come to pass: “Though
one goes along weeping carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with
shouts of joy carrying his sheaves” (Psalm 126:6). Remain strong and
unshaken in your faith as you wait upon our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you.
