We are hopeful and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us this year if He tarries. It is sadly true however, that quite a lot will not walk into the victorious breakthroughs that the Lord has planned for them this year. Not because God did not answer; in fact He answered and made provisions for them but it requires them working and walking in to get it. When the Lord made provisions of manna and quail in the wilderness, the people had to go out of their tents to gather them. It is not in the amount or how loud our ‘amen’ is but we must rise up and back it with action. You cannot be searching for a job - the Lord had promised you one - and you refuse to leave your room; or the Lord had promised you a College admission this year and you refuse to write examinations that will ensure you a spot in College. When we refuse to stand up to the responsibilities we have been assigned on earth whether we are students, workers, unemployed, or homemakers, whatever the sphere we find ourselves, the promises cannot come to pass and the blame is ours alone not anyone else’s. We must of a necessity rise up to the responsibilities we have been given. One of the major keys that we need as stewards is found in Ephesians 6:7 (NLT) “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” This means that in our place of work we must be enthusiastic about what we do and not go grumbling and murmuring about our colleagues and bosses. This was the mindset of the servant in Luke 19:20, he felt his boss was a hard and tough man that did not deserve the gains he would make for him. Friend, don’t let it bother you whether your boss, colleagues, spouses or family members are deserving of your service or not, you just carry out your duty enthusiastically because you are actually working for God; you will be greatly rewarded accordingly! If you do not have this mindset you will be prone to disappointments and your duties will become terrible chores that give you heartache and leaves you dissatisfied. You will excel only when you do everything as unto the Lord, not in eye service or hypocrisy. Are you sure you are ready for the move of God in your life this year? Then you must rise up and face your duties with a healthy dose of enthusiasm. It is no longer time for business as usual neither is it time to be lazy or slothful. It is time to arise and work. Friend, we are God’s stewards and we must be faithful; that is His will for us! God bless you.
"So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:5-8). As the Coming of the LORD draws ever closer, there is an increase in dryness, apathy and preoccupation with the world and its treasures in the hearts and minds of many children of God. Looking around our Nation (Nigeria), one would realise that things are not as they should be. The realities on the ground give the impression that the institutions that ought to regulate the lives of the citizen...
