Truthfully? We are continually faced with impossible situations that make us want to doubt if God really cares for us. So many have become complacent in their walk with God and have accepted every happening to and around them as the will of God even when it goes against God’s promises for them. To demonstrate how we are to function in Christ, the Lord said in Mark 11:22-24 “… ‘Have faith in God'. I assure you: if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for – believe that you have received them and you will have them.” Maybe you had faced rejection after rejection through no fault of yours, people die young in your family, impossible for any member of your family to stay married, barrenness, sickness, addictions, unsuccessful ventures; the time has come to take your stand for yourself or a loved one in the face of such situation without giving up. The Lord desires to bless us but He requires us to ask, seek and knock His door until what we inquire and require of Him is received. The five daughters of Zelophehad learnt this lesson well in Numbers 27:1-11 when they took their stand before God, Moses, the Priests and the whole congregation of Israel and asked for the property of their late father which should have been theirs by birth if they were males. They challenged the law that says only the males can inherit property. Please note that they didn’t challenge the authority of God nor of Moses but challenged the ‘law’ itself. When we go before God on an issue, it does not matter if we deserve what we are going through or not but the issue at hand is what is challenged. If what you are going through is said to be as a result of sin or curse, since you have asked the Lord for forgiveness and you are now a new creature, you then have a right as a child of God to challenge the issues that arose from the sin or curse. The family of Zelophehad was not the only family in Israel that had all female children, but they stood up to the law and refused to be shut down by their limitations. The Lord answered their request and told Moses to change the law! Friend, it does not matter what obstacles the enemy had put in your way, the Lord expects you to challenge it and it will move from your path. Rise up and stand before the King of kings and challenge the situation and it will change in Jesus Christ name because He said in Psalm 2:8 “Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession.” God bless you.
"So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:5-8). As the Coming of the LORD draws ever closer, there is an increase in dryness, apathy and preoccupation with the world and its treasures in the hearts and minds of many children of God. Looking around our Nation (Nigeria), one would realise that things are not as they should be. The realities on the ground give the impression that the institutions that ought to regulate the lives of the citizen...
