Welcome…

We bless the name of the Lord for taking us into the year 2012. If not for His mercies the glorious testimonies we recorded in the year 2011 would have been different. Year 2012 is a year we have never witnessed nor walked in before and so we need His guidance to take us through the year and beyond if He tarries. The politicians of the world have told us to buckle up for a rough ride. The economic and political indices all over the world are not looking promising. There is a gradual downturn in the belief system of the people and things that we once took for granted as right are spiraling out of control. These happenings are not strange, as children of God the Bible makes it clear that as the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ draws nearer, the world will continue to undergo pains like a woman seized with labor pains. One thing the Lord is asking us to do this year is to seek His perfect will and walk in it if we are going to live successful lives this year. Not our own will or His permissive will but His Perfect will. Just as the Lord spoke to Abram in Genesis 17:1 – “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him: I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.” Another version rendered the blameless as devout. We must be devoted to the Lord in worship and service. For God to be saying this at this point in Abram’s life then the way Abram had been walking was not well pleasing to the Lord. If you study his life prior to this point it was filled with ups and downs in his relationship with the Almighty God. When Abram yielded to the Lord from this point on, his name was changed and his relationship grew steady until he slept in the Lord. If we must please the Lord this year and have things go well for us, we must walk in His perfect will not in our own drawn up plans to please Him. Let us draw lessons from Psalm 63:1-2. It says “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; My soul thirst for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the Sanctuary. To see Your power and Your glory.” We must seek the Lord from this point on not when troubles begin but from this moment and He will cause all things to move in our favor. Our soul and flesh must thirst and hunger for Him because we have entered a realm that is dry and parched. Look around you, we are barely in the year and the world has started groaning from pain and oppression. No wonder the Lord is reminding us that if we want to see His power and glory come to bear in our lives this year, then we must seek Him in one place: His Sanctuary! God bless you as you seek Him out this year.
